    Weaver payoff

Is there a payoff for the Weaver profession? So far I'm level 28. I've already spent more Gil than I'm prepared to admit since going out and farming for crystals and rare material is a nightmare when added in with the other things for which I already farm. So far, weaver has cost me far more gil than it's made me. That's why I've only reached 28 with it.

Edit: Odd that my class on my portrait states that I'm a lvl 21 Arcanist. My Arcanist level is 23 and my Black Mage level is 60.

    SO MUCH GLAMOUR

Also, you can edit the class that shows up in your portrait in Settings > Edit Character in the top, right corner of the forums.

At 28, you haven't even gotten to the actual rare materials.

I'd suggest doing the Ixali beast tribe quests to level your Weaver (and any other crafting classes you're advancing along with it). Those quests level crafting classes fairly quickly, and for most of them the only materials you need to provide are crafting shards, since the other materials needed are collected during the quest(s). (They also tend to reward shards, although it won't always be of the element you most need.)

When you're crafting stuff to sell, it's a lot harder to make money if you're buying all the materials at MB prices, but you can certainly get some of them there. It's often best to find a mix that balances speed with cost. Make up a list of all the materials you'll need. (ffxivcrafting.com is useful for this, especially if you're making multiple things at once.) Check vendors and the MB to find any that are available cheap. Any that are expensive, gather for yourself. (While you're at it, gather a few extras to sell. You've already verified that they're currently high priced on the MB.)

When I care about the result quality (like if I'm making something for myself or a friend) I use the HQ materials I gathered for my own crafting and sell the NQ ones I gathered along with them. If I'm just making stuff to sell, I might do it the other way around, depending on whether that material sells significantly higher for HQ.

Level other crafts!! Throughout your entire crafting career you,ll need materials crafted by other classes. i.e. Aldgoat leather from leather workers. In doing so you\\\\\\\\'ll also be able to cross class every class\\\\\\\\' level 15 skill.

Lastly and most importantly use this website.

    http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com

It\\\\\\\\'s what I used to find out that th
e diremite webs needed to make Dew thread can easily be farmed (in excessive bulk it\\\\\\\\'s ridiculous) from level 30ish mobs in north shroud between fallgourds float and gridania.

If I\\\\\\\\'m in need of a material and I don\\\\\\\\'t like the price I\\\\\\\\'m seeing on the market board I just type that material in the search engine to find the easiest/cheapest way to obtain an item.

n conclusion crafting is about MAKING/SAVING money. i have made MILLIONS of Gil just going through and leveling all the crafts. Although I do have some crafts at 50 none of this Gil was earned through high level crafts, but just my simply crafting everything in the craftin log with a 100% chance at HQ. Which comes by Much much easier if you obtain some of your cross class skills.

Sorry for the weird backslashes last post. Phone messing up. However if you're on Gilgamesh hit me up.

Norg Kazham and always happy to help out.

Glamours, and other things on weaver can make a tidy sum if you follow the markets, Grabbing and levelling BTN as you do WVR can seriously help offset cost of mats / shards etc etc but it will take time

I make fairly good steady money on things like the Berets and Velveteen tights, neither are high level, rare or in need of silly rare mats, just visit your Marketboard and look through what's hot and selling and get crafting :P

You really should be leveling up your bot with your weaver. You'll get free mats while leveling up for free as well. Plus you have sell the extra mats on the MB to make money. Please. Take this from someone who got her craft classes to 50 without DoL support. You're going to need it when you're 50+ (craft class) anyway.
