can't get "a relic reborn" quest?

It's been a while since I've played FFXIV, I just recently got back to it and don't have Heavensward yet. I was hoping to play ARR content before getting Heavensward, and just completed all the main scenario quests available without the expansion.

I got the "The Weaponsmith of Legend" quest, which leads me to the questgiver Gerolt who is supposed to give the quest "A relic reborn" if I'm not mistaken but he doesn't give any quests for me, is there something I'm missing? Did they make it impossible to start the questline with base game only?

If your main class listing is correct, you need to be level 50 to start the relic quests. You might also have to finish the job quest at level 50, but I can't remember off-hand.

edit: turns out i did miss a scholar quest, it is now available. TY!
