Getting more frustrated by the day.

    * I emailed customer service. They emailed back that they couldn't help me over email and I should go to customer service live chat.
    * Twice live chatted with two different agents. They both said they couldn't provide any mac support and that I should try the forums. The second one, however, said they knew there was a problem.
    * So, posting here as my last chance.

I did another download/reinstall/patch today, and it's still crashing constantly.

I really love the game and want to keep playing. But it's currently unplayable. I'm not sure what happened in 3.15 to change things so drastically?

    Greetings!

In the Patch 3.1 notes we mentioned that adjustments have been made to the performance of Mac systems that are using the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M, GT 755M, and the GT 750M graphics cards. While it looks like the specs of your machines are below the minimum requirements, we can suggest the following settings which may help improve your gameplay experience. However, please note that this isn’t a guaranteed solution as your system specs are lower than the minimum requirements.

During the re-installation process your settings may have changed so we would suggest making the following adjustments:
    1. Under the [System Configuration] menu, select [Graphics Settings], and change the [Graphics Settings] preset to the “Standard (Mac)” and Apply the changes.
    2. Under the [System Configuration] menu, select [Other Settings], select [Minimum] for the [Character and Object Quantity] under the [Display Limits] and Apply the changes.
    3. Under [System Configuration], select [Display Settings], change the screen resolution to a resolution smaller than 1600x900 and Apply the changes. (The client may need to be restarted after adjusting the display resolution.)

Try these settings out and hopefully you’ll see an improvement to playability!

I am on similar specs to the original posters, running at 1440x900. Graphics settings pretty much reduced to the minimum across the board and get low 20s fps.

This did work to an extent. It still freezes every other 10 minutes but I am able to log in and actually do a few things.

I think you'd pretty much want to be on a Pro with Core i5/i7 and a discrete graphics card that can be switched to. The Intel Iris might also function on low settings at a low framerate (15-20) based on it's generic benchmarks but I have no experience with it.

Well yeah, that's a given. Macbook Pro high end for sure. Would be nice to have the year/models supported and at what resolutions are recommended to play the game with. I have a Macbook Pro Retina Mid 2015 with AMD Graphics. I know I can't run it at full resolution tho because the game just runs at like 4 frames per second. Just to see what SE's vision of the OS X Version should be instead of making big hopes for the MacBook we got.

I have a MBP Early 2013 with 650M graphics card. As long as I use 1680x1050 and Standard Laptop (with some extra shadows on etc) I get 20-30FPS. I have to use bootcamp for this though. I'm sure if I ponied up the $60 for the Mac client I would not be sure it could run emulated quite well. I'd almost suggest just getting a cheap copy of Windows 7 and use that with bootcamp.

Apologies for the delayed response to this; I was out of town over the holidays. I had already made the adjustments Grekumah recommends, except for the resolution settings. When I lowered my resolution to the very lowest, I get much better performance. I was able to play for a few hours last night and only crashed two or three times. This is annoying, but not unplayable like it was before. (Boy does the game look ugly though!) So thank you.

I hope people with high-end Macs got a really good performance boost from this last patch, because it's sure been awful for those of us with older Macs. (And in my defense, when I ordered the game, my computer was within the recommended perimeters.)
