Do you find running the same raid/dungeon/fight 100+ times fun?

Nearly every activity in this game seems to be "repeat X 100+ times"
yet nearly everyone I talk to in game thinks it's lazy design and boring.

    I'm just curious.
Does anyone actually find running the same dungeons or raids 100+ times fun?
For example, are any of you overjoyed at having to do around 600-700 alexander runs?

Is there like a massive section of the FFXIV community that -loves- having to repeat the same raid over and over?

I love it. I enjoy running dungeons and raids. I am working on leveling up my alt jobs and do nothing but dungeon runs.

Not everyone gets bored with them after 2 runs.

Welcome to How MMOs work? WHat MMO do you know that doesn't need you to grind at some point for top gear, P2W games don't count.

I don't mind repeating if they added a randomizer to the duty like different random mobs random hidden passages sometimes a change in the actual duty its self like a different random boss random mechanics and stuff. like sometimes say passage a base map is sealed off so you have to go an presently unknown B,C,D ect path.

If I were the devs I would focus on some kind of ai engine like that then this game would be amazing even with rng all duty's if its different each time could be fun.

But issue is... people seem to like simple non changing stuff grind and clear asap and all.... so a system like that... probs wont happen..

The issue is that it does not matter what they would have done for the relic quest. It seems like people would complain regardless. Yes they could of designed a bunch of new trials and such but people would burn through that content within a couple of days and be asking for more. Or they would be too difficult and people would ask for nerfs.

So the question I have is for people is what is the amount of time you think the relic quest should take to complete?

Yay another person who doesn't understand why people are upset!
We expect a grind, but not the exact same grind we JUST did for our previous relics. We all did our grind in Alex for our 190 gear, the 60 dungeons for Law/Eso, the 50 dungeons for Poetic gear, and the Brayflox for the best lvl 30 gear. Grinds aren't a surprise, we know they exist in the MMO universe.

    I personally don't mind grinds.
I mean I have caught over 75,000 fish.
    That should say a lot.

But what I don't like is that I quit this game for months because I got bored of doing 50 alex runs a week trying to get equipment
Now i'm supposed to do 600-700 of them.

    Further, it's never a challenge.
It's not like speed running alex 1 or 2 is hard.
People are apparently doing it in 5 or 6 minutes.

I remember FFXI had stuff like Assault, which was intuitive
And then Nyzul assault had random floors so every time you did it, there was something new.
That was grindy, but fun. Because every experience was different. And you could actually die in it.

    This.

I think anyone entering HW, had experienced what it means to grind content at least at some point playing this game or another.
But doing the same thing over and over, if you have been doing said thing already for 6 months, isn't a very appealing prospect, at least you wont be approaching the 228th run with the same appeal and joy as your 1st or 2nd. I hope no one is expecting every relic runner to be all smiles throughout this, because we've seen better, more appealing, or at least less tedious ways to do this.

And shouldn't that be what the customer would like? To enjoy what they are doing, instead of feeling like they are serving some corporate interest? Sounds like a rule for developing content.
