opinions about a server transfer

I'm looking to move off of Balmung, but am not sure where to go. a small server doesn't bother me at all, I wanna stay within NA, of course. My question is, I guess, where would you suggest? I'll be bringing a small FC over with me. I've heard that Siren and Cactuar are pretty decent? I was kind of interested in Goblin as well?

I'm part of that small FC! I'm only going along with the the transfer because we have like, 3 friends that want to join the game but Balmung is ALWAYS closed to creation. They've bought the game and have been waiting patiently for 10 days to get onto the server but no dice, so we're gonna move somewhere more accessible to new players so we can play together and help out the newbies!

I might be biased...

I've been on Zalera for about a year and a half.
Granted, FF14 is my first MMO ever, and Zalera is the only server I've ever played on... but... it's been a blast my whole time there.

If you want a largish server that's not so crowded that it's closed to character creation all the time, Sargatanas is a good option. We have a pretty active raiding scene, and PF almost always has several parties listed in it (it's quiet during the off hours for NA times).

Hows the housing market on Sarg and Zalera? It'd be nice to be able to hop in and grab a place if at all possible

There are zero houses available on Sargatanas unless you find someone selling one in PF. I suspect by now the same goes for pretty much all servers (the last time we had housing introduced was months ago) but I could be wrong.

You can also consider Lamia I guess. It's closed to creation like 50-75% of the time it seems (depending on patches), but not nearly as bad as Balmung. Fairly casual friendly without a huge raid/RP or PvP crowd. We're not really known for excelling at anything but we are here and most of us are pretty friendly

no houses available on Zalera either right now, but maybe soon. I'll agree it's a small server, but I like it alot. my friends, and I transfered off Balmung over a year ago for much of the same reason. We have a small fc on zalera and were able to get a house here. ( before personal housing hit) If you don't mind smaller servers Zalera's a great place.
