Quick Crystal drop question

I wasn't getting a bite in the other threads, so I'm asking this here.

Has anyone gotten a crystal from a 3.0 fate WITHOUT the "soul without life" quest currently in progress? As in, I can safely grind fates on low level classes, earn crystals randomly, and then spend them on relics later when I decide which ones I want?

I'm not sure which 170 relics I want to pick up right now, and would like to just level my dps classes via the constant fate parties that are running. While I could always keep an irrelevant "soul without life" quest in my journal to trigger crystal drops, has anyone gotten a crystal while not on the quest?

you can start the quest, with any class, run your fate, gather crystal, and when you want up a specific class just abandon quest and restart new one,
you will have directly the crystal with you

yeah, I figure that much out. But I'm really just curious if anyone is getting the item without the quest. I've run a few fates without the quest, and got nothing, but lack of evidence isn't proof that something doesn't exist.

Yeah, that's right.
But with the history on such things... I would guess that Obscr is right and you won't get the drop without the quest. Just based on how previous things have worked.

I would think that without the quest, you wouldn't receive the drop. It's kind of like how atmas wouldn't randomly drop without specific conditions (i.e., relic weapon equipped and unlocked quest). That would be my guess though. I could be wrong. XD
