Just a quick thought about the current state of Diadem. I am not entirely opposed to the instanced slaughter fest, but why not make it mroe challenging than that?

Gatherers and crafters could become relevent to this process aside from eating up slots if they were put to task.

For example, say instead of mindless gathering, you have 3 miners and a potential path is blocked. Those three miners could actively mine through it, but they would need to be protected from groups of enemies trying to kill them while they do.

Make it dynamic and interesting. Gatherers arent just there for themselves, they can be escorted protected and used, and as a result you have access to areas that someone witout gatherers doesnt, and potentially a higher reward.

Implement crafters in the same fashion. Take a material those gatherers can gather and have them craft 'x' that could potentially allow you explore another area that people lacking those two components could not otherwise reach.

Make it something that actually stimulates people, and forces some kind of cohesion and teamwork to really profit from it, outside of just mindless killing.

It channges the dynamic from a 90 minute farm fest to 'just exactly where, and how far can we get in 90 minutes."

Just my thoughts. I really do hope that FFXIV rebounds from the doldrums it seems to be in, and the seemingly overwhelming negative reception to 3.15.
