Why is "It's something to do" apparently a valid defense?

Whilst it's great that you're enjoying yourself, your join date implies you haven't been playing all that long.

It's fine for you because you're new and you can't see the cracks yet. Those of us that have been here since the beginning can see how incredibly lazy the devs are being and we're tired of it. They are NOT putting our subscriptions to good use.

Actually, I've been playing for almost two years and I have no issues with the new relic. Again, if you don't like it, that's fine. But please just let people enjoy it without making excuses up for why they are. There's no need to push your opinion on others.

Also, anything in the game is content. Just because it's revisiting old content and isn't shiny and new doesn't mean you can't do it. For the millionth time, it's optional, there's other weapons, and a whole lot of other stuff to do in the game.
