
Well, looks like I'll be backing up my laptop tomorrow and gambling with the devil again. When I updated to Yosemite it broke my screen and I had to send it into repair.. So you can say I'm a little apprehensive :P Once I do that I'll update here of my findings!Seems like it only works on Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.x... It worked for me there...
When i tried on Yosemite, it does exactly what you guys are describing, launches and remains resident but does not do anything, no launcher, no game, no luck... You can use Activity Monitor in your Utilities folder to see FFXIV running and doing nothing. You can also Force Quit it there, without having to restart your computer.
