    For one, that is for the extremely skilled and hardcore raiders. I believe the other player (and myself) are talking about more of a Mid-Core skill level.
    So when we get 3.2 patch and they add a coil-level difficulty (either remove savage of 3.2 or let it stand with just achievement/mount rewards) they can use that coil as an additional path to upgrade relic, sure. Make it like 50 of each floor of coil-difficulty, or 200 of each floor normal. With other options open, like as now.

    mind not brintging player skill or lack of and claim its the content fault? It partly the veteran players bases fault that not everyone plays well. They either don't explain why some stuff is better, don;t ask the personh if they want advice, then rag on others for not looking up an outdated guide or video.

    Most fault lies in the veteran players who steam roll leveling dungeons, don't explain jack claim its not their responsibility, then blame the person anyway or complain on here.

    in ff11 if you didn't do ur job you got kicked, it was that simple. If you see a person slacking ask if they need adive, if they say no shrug it off unless its its cause issiues. Give people a chance to learn instead of harrassing them.

    Good example is when I was leveling today, I am re-leveling marauder on my new character. DF run after df run was mostly a headache, If it wasn't a claric stance sch/or ast it was dps attack whatever mob they wanted regardless if i pulled or not.

    I even had a healer on the second pull of halatali assume i was pulling the entire dungeon and said " i rather take the penalty then do the whoie dng" didn't ask or copmmunicate anything, All i was doing was getting the patrolling bomb and the stuff in the room aggro me. And he left after i pulled and caused rest of us to die. Also did a ifrit battle via df and healer let me die after inferno just stood, got blamed for losss hate, mostly cause no one noticed i died.


    earlier this morning on my first halatali run, this mch was "going ham" on anything no matter if i pulled it or establisted enmity. he was high leveled and high geared I'm "fresh" mrd with just lvl 20 gear. During the final boss he pops all his attack cool downs at the start and says "wtb tank" im sry bout how can a low lvl tank establist enmity if a high lvl high geared player pops all attack buff CD at the start?

    If people actually worked together, and give new players room to breath and get experience people would learn. Going ham and basically sol0o steam rolling dungeons does squat to help new players learn, just lvls them faster.

    Tool tips, guides, videos only do so much and go so far players need to actively use the skills to gain muscle memory on how stuff works, cosistent battles and great teamwork helps.

    FF11 had pretty skilled player as we lvled up and all we did was kill crabs 1-75. then 75-99. XD It was because we tried to work as a team and help eachother out and kicked people out if they went against the party.



    as per the question "whats wrong with the forums/players?" my guess and, please don't taked offence this is just my experience, most people are jaded wow players who barely playedd ff11, only played ff11 a lil bit and are too used to the "solo to level" "pugs are bad" "level then raid" mindsets. I base this on the culture shock you see from the player base on not relying on addons that tell you what to do or having to need to work together even for leveling up. Where long term ff11 players are used to this.

    I saw a big change in the player base since the 2.0 launch and think its due a big WoW player migration. Pree lords of drenor this player base was very good pretty helpful since that expac launch game community tanked faster then the hindenburg.

    So what you are saying is that until patch 3.2, they should only accommodate casual and hardcore players, but leave midcore players with nothing catered to them?

    I am struggling to understand why you don't want to allow more options, so that more people can enjoy the content.

    They won't make Alex Hard Mode for 3.0 right now. And they won't modify the relic quest either. Not until its nerfed. You can expect more stuff in the future, but not now, no.

    Edit: Oh btw, I'm hardcore by my playtime and dedication, but I'm not willing to "raid with just whoever" (like say, hitch a PF run). I typically play 70 hours a week. Of not-afk time. The relic as it is is fine for me. I do beastmen (I have all 6 mounts), I got crafts and gathers all maxed and with enough gear to make the lv 60 1 star stuff (but I'm not insane enough to make 2 alts just to cover all specialists).

    1) The amount of time you play in the game has nothing to do with if you are casual or not. Have you gotten an AS4 clear? I tend to doubt it given you only have 1 60 battle class frankly. You can be casual and spend a ton of time in game.

    2) They typically nerf the relic quest about 9 months or so after it was relevant. If you are waiting for a sane grind it will be a long time.
    2.1) People are not as angry, in my experience, about the grind, but that its incredibly boring and shows no effort by the developers. The Relic was 'delayed' from the 3.0 launch so they could work on it, then again from 3.05 and 3.1. Let me ask you....what were they doing? If this had (as is) launched along side 3.0 it be one ting, but asking players with no will or want to go back to alexander normal to do it a couple hundred times is insanity. Meanwhile where are developer resources being poured?

    Stuff no one seems to enjoy or care to do because 1) its not fun 2) its being executed poorly. So when we see *THIS* is being worked on while the sizeable mid core population is loosing hope in the game, people get angry.

    The complaints are justified. You even see them in the JP forums, FR and GR forums at this point. This is not a problem with the commonly thought of 'rude NA' player base.

    I'd like to challenge your idea that it is the veterans players responsibility to teach new players. It's ultimately up to the new player to ask for help. Further, it's the responsibility of the game design to teach the player (tooltips, leveling, guildhests, quests and help files). I am much more interested in helping someone that I have a relationship with than some random stranger I'll know for 15 minutes, and will likely say all of 10 words to each other.

    As for your closing statement. I am not a jaded WoW player, nor have I ever played FF11. I wouldn't say that solo leveling is off the table in FFXIV, a lot of PUGs are bad and some are good (nature of a PUG really), and I don't get the level-then-raid part. It naturally comes in that order. If you prefer to raid, that is what you'll do.

    I also don't like that you're effectively throwing a large number of players in various camps. This leads to over-generalizations, discrimination and segregation.

    I will do the quests for the weapon 210 np,i don't care if it takes me more than a month,i love the game an im also helping everyone on my FC w specialist crafting(4 specialists), i never complain of anything on this game neither since 1.0 all the way to 3.15 ,great job the team has made.
    -My only fear is that by the time i finish the relic we had some other access to a higher weapon then i will feel my time was bad invested.. one thing i notice is that things get discontinue really quick,i believe this is what they call vertical progression.
    Besides that take it slow,you don't have to get this weapon in 3 days,take your time an enjoy the adventure, recommended to be done with friends for max enjoyment.
    ******* Socialize in MMO an you will never feel you grinding ever again because friends make it fun an easy.**********
