What is wrong with people on the forum..?

The huge majority is ingame and is playing the actual game instead of complaining here.

I am sure this has already been stated, but, just in case, why are you on here complaining?

There is less crying in game. And way more people having fun working on it all.

Sounds like a typical, "well I don't see it happening, then it must not be happening." I was out on Idlly for an hour or two (waiting for raid) and people were talking about how bad the relic weapon quest is. It is happening in game too. Just because this isn't /2 in WoW where people can easily talk, doesn't mean that it is not happening.

Anyways, also, for the White Knights out there, people are really not all the mad at the actual progression of the Relic. What they are upset about is that they had to wait almost 6 months for something that they could've been working on at the start of the expansion. Most are seeing it that the Devs were just lazy and try to "extend" content to further milk subscription fees. I mean, everyone could've already had their ilvl 200 Relic by now (seeing that it only take 2 weeks to get ilvl 200 eso isn't too ridiculous), and could've started working on the real grind today (the players with Zeta's would've gotten their ilvl 170 weapon practically after hitting level 60).

I am saying that it is not the grind that is really pissing people off, but instead how Yoshi P. and Co. handled release of the content. They waited over 6 months for this, and everything is just a rehash of old content. If this is your thing, they this is what you are going to get for ever patch and expansion coming. And I have a feeling that we all might have seen this coming with ThEX, because that fight was just a rehash of nothing but old mechanics.

People don't necessarily complain ingame because they don't want to disturb people who play the game. Forums is where the feedback should be posted;

@Memoe -> I do and a lot of my friends enjoy it too. We like have a long term goal, and it's not even restricting us. Just have to do the dailys and tribal mission, maybe a bit of alexander if you want to speed up the process but that's it.

Please do not forget that, as soemeone who created his account in february 2015, you didn't experience the relic quest chain of the 2.X FFXIV before it was nerfed. You must understand that almost all players who complain are those who have been playing FFXIV for a long time and already went through relic grinding in the 2.X patchs.

Complaints in game also have less(read: none) chance to be seen by the devs, not to mention the chance of it angering various people you know.

Well I'd like to put in my two cents and say that the few people I'm friends with don't like the new relic quest. It's just not fun. Isn't that in and of itself a problem?

As a casual, I can say it doesn't really motivate me either. Why would I do it? I suppose the journey of forging my own weapon would be cool, but I'd probably be better off just doing the ARR relic line, and then at least I'd have a cool glamour.

I dont care about demanding content I just want something different to do and not more recycled content. Honestly I would rather have less content but good Content.

The idea that there is something "wrong" with people who have feedback on content they are paying for is kind of lost on me. Care to explain why there's something wrong with people who aren't happy with the content they've purchased with their subscription? Or what's "wrong" with their expressing that sentiment in the area SE has provided for them to post it?

What is wrong is not that they give their opinion on content, what is wrong is the incredibly hysterical way it is done in.
I'm by no means saying the relic quest is perfect, there are quite a few things about it that I dislike as well, but the problem is that a constructive discussion is no longer possible with the way people are acting.

I might as well make a new rule for myself. Instead of the old "Never play on patchday." one, I'll go with "Never visit the forums of a game on patchday."
