According to you EVERYONE in game is happy with the relic thing... People need to stop being fanboys/fangirls and take a look. This game is great as RPG mainstory and leveling are pretty cool BUT as an MMO doesn't work at all.

We must be playing in a different server because in Ragnarok i still haven't met a single person happy with the relic quest.
And 5/6 of the people i play the most with are probably going to quit the game and not come back (that includes me and we are players that have been here since launch).
Honestly, I think that it's great people are voicing feedback and concerns. The vast majority of feedback that I have read has been thoughtful and reasoned, and a lot less has been QQing.
The main issue here is the timing of the release and the seemingly lack of effort of it. I won't go in to the details, because they are listed by the hundreds among many posts and threads.
That said, the grind is taking way less than I expected. I'm already 1/8th of the way done getting my unidentified items after 1 evening, add in the weekend and I am sure I can have my relic before Christmas.
I'm failing to see the overall difference between spaming alex and spamming whatever trial had bonus light back in the day. All the game is demanding is just following your dailies for the final stage. Do your roulettes that noone does any more. Beast tribe quests, etc.
Why would anyone NEED their anima weapon right now? Again the only thing it can be relevant in is savage and you are either already doing that or wrote off the raid already.
It's a big dumb pointless carrot on the stick. It has always been a carrot on the stick. Not once did they ever hint that this was going to change. You either do it or you don't and nothing about your gaming experience will change regardless of what route you pick.
Completely agree with what you said and even the part I'm quoting, but I'm still going to nitpick this for one reason. I've never seen the appeal in relics for either relic through Zeta or Anima and subsequently just never done them either.
However, they did say they understood the backlash and that some of the things they tuned was too much, as far as my sources go anyway (and they are all from memory by now). So if those sources (and subsequently, my memory) are worth any credit at all, that's basically acknowledging there has been feedback, that they understood the feedback but decided to toss it all in the bin instead. I'm aware that also means they never directly stated they were changing it, but getting feedback like that on its own and responding to it in such manner should be indication enough and a company shouldn't be leading on their customers like a bunch of teenagers wanting to get it on.
Now if anyone can directly confirm this for me, I'd be both very grateful and very flabbergasted for the farce that is going on now.
I fit into neither of these categories.
They actually did hint it was going to change. There was an interview which stated the relic in 3.x would be a lot easier to obtain than previous stages.
"For those who’d rather not dabble in raids, however, or just enjoy the typical MMO grind need not worry. Heavensward will have new relic weapons alongside the level increase to 60 which – according to Yoshida – won’t be nearly as difficult to obtain as the current Zodiac weapon line. The new relic will likely also see something around the timing of Patch 3.1 to increase its power – similar to the current Zodiac. “However, the Zodiac weapon is still for whoever wants to use it,” said Yoshida. “The players do have choices of other weapons that might be easier to obtain than others.”"

Further, they also listed these fundamentals at the end of GDC 2014
1. Never forget the fans. Without them, there would be no 'us'
2. Fun comes first. If it isn't fun, you're doing it wrong
3. Never back down. Always aim to amaze
4. Don't forget your roots. It's what fans crave

But I think they did listen to criticism. At least comparing this to atma and books. Everything is elegantly placed to allow you to accomplish other goals while you work. You're not JUST working on your weapon. You get to level other jobs. Work on your tribe rep. Gear out other jobs. Comparing this from "hunt this once a day FATE noone does that changes by class and not universal" I think it's a major step up.
What I asked for was for you to compare the experience you get from other MMOs with FFXIV, not a single player gameOkay... so what exactly is Square offering at this point with this MMO? I'm sitting back and slowly thinking about this right now! I completed the dungeon portion of the relic tonight and then looked up the next step, and saw the absurdity with all the HQ crafting stuff. And what did I do? Shake my head and turn off the game and went and played Fallout.
Because if you are into "playing with others", Fallout 4 (which may be a great game) is not an option.
Do other MMORPGs offer you an experience without any rehashed content, without grind of things you were already bored with before that, or with the same set of mechanics that pop up again and again? You face the same problems in any other MMORPG (unless it's a PvP MMO, which has different problems than PvE ones, but even then it will have the same problems as other PvP MMOs).
So what exactly are your options? Just quit MMOs altogether? Because the experience won't get better by switching over to any of the other major contenders who are doing exactly the same as FFXIV does.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying "just swallow any crap they throw at you", I'm all for giving contructive feedback and slowly reforming the game to make more people happy through that calm feedback - which a lot was given in this thread, actually - but yesterday the NA forum was just mindlessly raging with very few valid complaints being made, and they easily got lost between all the butthurt everyone else was spewing.
I hate to draw that comparison again, but the JP forum basically had one major thread for everyone to explain what they thought was wrong with the relic quest. Here, many people acted like a chicken with its head cut off, flailing their arms screaming "FFXIV IS GONNA DIE; THIS IS THE EEEEEEND" and banged their head against the wall until 5 new threads per minute fell out. Not exactly a great way to let SE know how to fix something
I called what he said about Ragnarok only having 2 dfs up during the whole EU prime time a lie because it obviously was, since even without the relic quest, df party numbers never go down that low unless it's late at night or early morning.
I also offered to prove him wrong (although I could only do it for the next day, since patch day had already passed). So yes, I actually AM sticking to numbers and provable points. As for the quote you are using, Savvy - I went ahead and accepted her numbers and she still kept going on about how I was exaggerating, when I used exactly the numbers SHE had provided. At that point I realized all she wanted was have a fight, and I'm too old to react to childish provokes.
Here are your "facts" (notice that I never once argued against Brian's facts, I actually quoted them but was still told I'm the one exaggerating...), and I assure you that on patch day, the number was even higher since I had to scroll down 3 times which means the df number was past 20:
(sorry that the game is in German, but the objective stated by the players should tick you off on what they are doing, even if the dungeon names and the like don't make sense to an English speaker)
Back during the 2.X series we complained peacefully, telling SE their questline was outright boring. Not exactly a great way to let SE know how to fix something
What has changed in 3.15 ? Nothing. They even implemented more atma.
If memory serves... I could have sworn I remember them saying somewhere they'd either not or probably not do something like Atma again, too.
