I didn't exaggerate anything, you were the one who brought numbers into it, I merely said "a significant amount". And even if 80% were right, that would mean 20% of the people haven't cleared it yet. I'd consider that a significant amount.

Luckily, I have already seen a great amount of wonderful answers from all sides, especially lots of people who had a differing opinion from mine but were able to put it into calm words and clear argumentations, so I feel comforted knowing that not everyone has lost their minds completely

-> Months worth of grind for a weapon that will likely be outclassed on 3.2 release. Not to mention, hours/days of grind, none of which increase power at all, or accurately reflect time spent.
-> Proceeds to remove the ability to customize relic. Why? Because apparently being on step one means we don't deserve something we know we could have. Gotta reset the good ole' playing field right?
-> Literally does nothing to evolve the quest whatsoever. Literally a carbon copy of previous relic.

Live-letters have talked about this tons of times in the past. Relics have been hot-topics more than once, and almost every time they mention having learned something about their community not liking a part of it, and how they'll take that into consideration. Or how this or that design philosophy should be applied for the 'next' (now current) relic weapon.


So yes, they did lie to people. Not only that, they don't need to state anything or lie, in order for the playerbase to be angry. The fact that they're literally, point for point, copying 2.0 in almost every conceivable way is enough. We aren't worth the hassle of creativity, it seems. Also, the cherry on the top is the sheer amount of tedium, and the fact that it was delayed, when these weapons are already on borrowed time.

That's fascinating considering it's basically identical to the previous relic questline.

I don't really see people compaining about it being time consuming - people are compaining about it being boring, repetitive, and unimaginative... all of which are undeniably true. Its literally atma, old dungeon grinding, and buying expensive items ALL OVER AGAIN.

I don't like to be negative, but I did hope the devs would be more imaginative than that.

People are disappointed with good reason, I think.

The huge majority is ingame and is playing the actual game instead of complaining here. I have talked to hundereds of people today and not even one had a reaction even remotely similar to what you read here on the forums.

Holy hyperbole, Batman! Just a little advice, if you're trying to sway people to your way of thinking, avoid blatantly made-up statistics; it instantly undermines anything you say after that point.

And lastly, it's a reminder to all the people who are disappointed, furious and/or feeling entitled here. That you should sit back and slowly think about what this MMO gives you and what other MMOs offer.

Okay... so what exactly is Square offering at this point with this MMO? I'm sitting back and slowly thinking about this right now! Is this grindfest supposed to actually be enticing me? Am I supposed to be excited at the concept of grinding my brains out for a i210 weapon? Mind you, I come from a world well-versed in the grind; I was a FFXI player for around 7 years. The difference, however, is that even though that game's grind was RNG hell and quite honestly pretty cruel at times, the payoff was gear that would still remain relevant for years to come.

This game's extreme vertical progression will probably be its downfall. Why would I waste so much time and effort grinding for this relic when it will probably be made obsolete (or at the very least, so-so) within 2 months tops? I completed the dungeon portion of the relic tonight and then looked up the next step, and saw the absurdity with all the HQ crafting stuff. And what did I do? Shake my head and turn off the game and went and played Fallout.

It's not like the grind is fun, either. If you want to finish the relic quickly enough so that it's still a relevant weapon, then you're forced to almost treat this game like a second job, grinding constantly for hours on end. If you take your time and just get to it when you get to it (i.e. the casual way), then it's all wasted time because by the time you get close to finishing they will inevitably be rolling out an alternative weapon that's easier to get (I'm totally waiting for the update where they'll be adding the eso weapon's upgrade item to the Void Ark fold). And it's not like I'm making this up because this is exactly what they've done in the past and they've made no indication of stopping this.

I for one love the game. I dont play because there isnt much to do anymore, but am I screaming on the forums that ff is dying or that it sucks? Naaaaah. If people are gonna unsub then bye bros, more people will sub in your place (especially with recruit a friend) so all I gotta say is..
