That's fine and I even agree with you regarding the process. Crafting is monotonous, no doubt about it.I don't even care about the actual XP required to level crafting. That's not what bothers me. What bothers me is that the entirety of the crafting experience is composed of hitting enter and occasionally up. Monotony isn't exactly engaging. And, yes, there is some middle ground somewhere between the current state of things and one in which everyone instantly levels to 50. I'm not sure what that middle ground is. I'm not sure anyone knows, even. I do know, however, that expressing displeasure with the current state of affairs is more likely to inspire SE to try something different.
In beta it seemed Rapid was a valid option. Shortly after release they quickly buffed standard to be the default option for pretty much every case and nerferd the durability loss of rapid to be way too high and give it a high failure rate. Now the only thing rapid is good for is breaking your synth faster. 2 rapids and I lost over 50 durability each after it went unstable with an element. Ridiculous. A valid rapid option helped break up some of the monoteny of crafting if that option was still valid in some way and made synthesis faster which I think could use a boost to the time it takes to craft something.
at least crafting is a little interactive in FFXIV unlike WOW where you just choose it from a menu and it is always 100% -.- now THAT is boring. I kind of like how FFXI did it, but at the same time it needed improvement.
