I used to be one of those players that didn't sleep and stood awake all night+day long (from europe) waiting for servers to come up after every patch maintenance (which happens from 6-7am to 12pm my time) and then logging in as soon as servers were online to do all the new content asap (I like doing fresh content as soon as possible when it's released). My friends always got 'mad' at me for being sleepy at raid time because I spent the whole day doing patch content without sleeping before raid night. With this patch, I didn't even do it. I've been pretty much burnt out already since 3.0/3.1 to care THAT much about the game, but when I logged on forums and readdit before logging into the game seeing all those anima posts, it made me cringe. I started doing the relic thing and I already burnt out on it, and it's on the easy part even Lol (stopped at 2nd step, sohm al run) because that's how boring and unfun is, re-running everything we've been doing for the past months/year everyday. I'm not even sure if I'll bother with the 3rd step, seeing how my motivation to grind gil disappeared and no way I'm gonna buy those expensive HQ mats, even the lv50 zodiac quest ones remained expensive on my server until now. Overall, too lazy and burnt out to do this anymore. I kept playing because of friends and raiding with them, I thought relic would make me want to at least play the game some more on my own, but nope, not happening.

JP player-base > NA/EU. That's SE's priority. Thinking otherwise is well...your problem.
And saying this is not seeing the wood for the trees. Yeah, sure, the PF might be full of relic-related ads, but that doesn't mean everyone flocking to it loves it to death. It only means that people are interested in having a relic weapon, they want to have a relic weapon, whatever that might entail* - and/or that a lot had nothing "fresh" to do for a while and they just jumped at this because it's something "new" to do. It's not a proof at all of nobody having any problem with any part of it.
Look at it this way: everyone's using this crummy glamour system we have, does it mean it's an awesome design that everyone loves? Nope, it means that this is what we have so we're forced to use it if we want to appear wearing different gear than what we actually have equipped. Try adding a proper glamour log that requires no physical items, no prisms and such, and have it alongside what we do have for a while - then we'd see which one is loved more.
*: taking advantage of that in such a blatant way and throwing the worst parts at people (at players, at paying customers) again, after numerous expressions of displeasure, with zero effort, just because "they'll do it anyway"....well, that is just bad form. Really, really bad form.
As for the OP: YES, YES, YES, A MILLION TIMES YES. I would really love to hear Yoshi reflect to these, especially in regards to the relic quests now, but in general as well, because let's face it, the fun seeped out of the game quite a while ago, content-wise. And it's quite baffling to see, to hear, to experience how disjointed the players and the devs have become, especially when thinking back of that exact thing that's in the OP. It's like most, if not all, of that disappeared and has been replaced with ¥_¥ eyes and /grabbyhands. Simply very sad.

I just hope FFXV and FFVII come soon so SE can stop stealing FFXIV funds. We need them to improve FFXIV.

If you're not having fun, unsub from the game until they make the adjustments you want them to make. If you are having fun, keep doing what you're doing. If the subs go down enough, they'll change things. Keep it simple.
Oh yeah, this is a great idea. I stopped buying Pepsi because I didn't like the taste and what do you know, within a few weeks they changed it and it's my favorite soda now! This is absolutely how any company ever works without any kind of organized movement. Give me a break. OP wants to voice their displeasure as do many others and it's their right AS customers to do so.
If not enough people buy the flavour they offer then it will not be produced anymore. Same goes for this game and the style of content they release, unsubs will show them but realistically most of these whiners will still throw their wallets at the game and log in anyway...Oh yeah, this is a great idea. While I didn't read the 10 pages of this thread, kinda interesting looking at the picture. Nearly all the points have been removed from SE's design ideals now.
1) This one was out the window when they sacrificed inventory space for monetizing it.
2) I don't need to touch this one as it has 10 pages and plenty other threads right now.
3) Kind of ties with #2, considering the recycling of content.
4) This point can get heavily opinionated, but what we have so far is 50/50. We get to see old things come back through glams, 24-mans and gold saucer; but then we lose things like BLU and still lost with RDM (been 'talking' about this job since beta of 2.0 far as I can recall) due to how the game was designed for parties. Also the small niche things like DRG's losing its invulnerability during Jump.
Since this picture is being thrown around a lot lately, I wonder if they'll ever decide to bring it back up during a live letter.
