Implement a quest that involves killing actual bosses instead of spamming brainless low level content.
Implement a quest that involves killing actual bosses instead of spamming brainless low level content.
You can get high level weapons from killing actual bosses.
The relic is for people who want to invest time instead of tackling hard challenges. Its for the people who wont be doing Thordan EX or Alex Savage.
Ok and how long would you be willing to wait for this content and what other content would you be willing to give up to have it made?Anima solution?
Take it out from the game, implement a Z recovery sistem. Fire the developers responsable. Come up with something new. Like a multiple end weapon based on the content we do the most, with diferent desing, something i can progress by doing anything i want and not what quest tell me to do, even more, each quest should be diferent for each relic, with diferent lore, targets, locations, NPCs, quest names, etc.
6 months should do.You can get high level weapons from killing actual bosses.

And what content would you be willing to give up? The resources to create all that have to come from somewhere. What your asking for is effectively 13 different questlines with their own unique stories and possibly encounters. I think your being very unrealistic on exactly how much work it takes to implement something like that.
Their artefact system is a very different beast, starting with the fact there are no other weapons available in the expansion except the Artifact for you class. While the system is an interesting one, its closer to a complete weapon system overhaul than an relic.I like the way the new WoW expansion is handling their artifact weapon system. Every class gets a unique quest that unlocks a unique base weapon. Then as you play and earn xp through various things the weapon gets more powerful and unlocks new abilities/stats.
It's much more exciting to see your weapon get more powerful as you go and leveling it doing things you want to do ingame. Farming Alexander 800 (!) times and then being given a weapon just feels dull and like I am trying to climb too high of a wall. I will pass.
Strictly speaking most things you do in FF14 can contribute to the final stage of your relic. You don't have to run Alex. You can get the materials through Beast tribe dailies, with Poetics, with Law, with hunt seals, and from maps.

They already delayed this 6 months for absolutely no reason. Since its just 1 quest series and the things to do are exactly copypasted from before. We already are reciving 1 dungeon version (a recycled dungeon already) less in exchange of "new diferent content". If they can`t manage, they aren`t doing it right.
Is XIV a big MMORPG? yes. Has enough budget? but of course yes. I expect nothing less than what any other MMORPG might offer. And we are recibing far less, actually, for this questline, we are reciving literally nothing. They delayed this 6 months to give us nothing.
Unrealistic? WoW is making exactly what im proposing. If a big MMORPG like WoW can. A big (and riding the wave!) MMORPG like XIV can. If not, then the title isn`t worth the care of their devs anymore.

That aside, thats just wishing, it wont happen, in 5 years more people will be grinding fates to get atmas to get their i610 relic.

Step 11 - Gather a certain number of beastcoins from the appropriate beatmen tribe (10 stacks Tier 1 OR 5 stacks Tier 2 OR 1 stack Tier 3)
PLD = 990 of the Bronze Amalj'ok OR 495 of the Iron Amalj'ok OR 99 Darksteel Amalj'ok
MNK = 990 of the Bronze Amalj'ok OR 495 of the Iron Amalj'ok OR 99 Darksteel Amalj'ok

Step 17 - Raise the Spiritbond of the weapon to 100%
sure, they removed a lot of the grind from the relic quest at 2.0 launch, but then they found out that too many players finish the relic quest (the reason why coil weapon got changed from ilevel 190 to ilevel 195)

You have omitted the following:http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post745711

Clear Darkhold in 13 minutes or less
Clear Aurum Vale/Cutter's Cry in 16(?) minutes or less 3x each.
Clear a class-specific Leve that's actually pretty challenging
Clear Garuda with no deaths
Clear Ifrit Extreme
and that's just from memory
There was a grind, but there was also some legitimate challenge there to make you feel like you actually accomplished something. Even in 2.0 this was the case with people wiping to Titan/Chimera/Hydra. It was all in bite-sized chunks too, so a casual player could work on it a bit at a time. Unfortunately, after the initial quest they replaced all of the parts you actually want to remember with more brainless solo grind. They also apparently have adopted the idea that casual = helpless newbie who can't complete anything requiring even a bit of teamwork.
Really, I think the key here is creative use of the resources they have. The quests created after the initial 1.0 and 2.0 relics have been devoid of creativity.

I agree with this. The relic has always been just one, of many, ways to get a solid end game weapon. I've never understood the rage against it or the process to get it. Right now I believe Hive, Heavenly, Alexander, and Esoteric weapons are all solid options for an end game weapon (and any of those would work well for most players, who don't engage in high end raiding) If one option doesn't suit your needs one of the others will. If a month or two working on the Anima weapon is too much for you, pursue a different weapon.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
Which are the exact same people that are complaining about how this whole relic system works. So yeah.. lol
