Solution to lack of housing: Anima quest

Since the problem is that there's too many players wanting a house, SE introduce the Anima questline to make people quit playing, thereby reducing the number of players that want a house...

The last phase of the current Anima questline would have been borderline acceptable if it was EITHER 20 tokens each of 4 types to get the required items, OR 4 HQ crafted items of each type...
    But requiring BOTH....

    It's simply too much.

The 0.5% of the population silly enough to "quit" (in quotes because most quitters end up coming back anyway) over another long relic grind (that we've been getting for YEARS) isn't gonna make that big of a difference regarding housing availability.

    Try again.

if it's only 4 HQ Crafted Items, you would see people with 3 or 4 of them already.

they designed this quest to last to at least 3.2

If you think it's only going to be 0.5%, try again...

And by 3.2 it will be considered obsolete as you will have other 210 weapons more easily obtainable, as well as higher ilevel weapons that are also more easily obtainable.

Maybe if they had released this alongside 3.05 there would have been a point to it, but at this point in the patch cycle it's complete rubbish.

There will ALWAYS be people that grind it out fast... Designing the content around who can finish it the fastest is really bad design.

Yes, I think it's only 0.5%. The people whining about it are always a vocal minority. Most people that aren't going to do it probably are just going to continue on playing the game as they usually do anyway. The people are that are going to do it are too busy actually doing it.

The whole "I don't like this content and I'm going to proclaim that the majority of the game's population agrees with me and will quit in protest!" thing has been proven to be hyperbole time and time again, and this is no different. For every person that quits over this, there's either one returning player or one new player that takes their place.

except your change has no grind at all. trade in Zeta, do 10 dungeons with no level cap (takes maybe 3 hours max), HQ 4 crafts, the end.

Oh, so it's not a grind at all to actually obtain the materials needed for the crafts?
You do realize that a single character can't even make those crafts on their own, right? It's 8 specialist recipes involved.

But I suppose you mean everyone should run to the closest gilseller, buy some gil and buy it off crafters that charge unreasonable amounts of gil for this..

if you can buy it it's not a grind. if you want to buy it on day of release, you have to pay the premium, therefore it's also not an unreasonable amount. supply and demand is not unreasonable. the mats are not hard to get.
