Oh well, all I can do is be hopeful that they will do something better the next time around.
And I totally get, and agree with that. I would love to see a degree of substance to the quests. Honestly, to me, it never got better than the Epic weapon quests from EQ. Every single class had it's own individual storyline for the quests, and progressed through the quests with different goals, and different items to achieve that (usually) had some relevance to the weapon and questline in question. It wasn't without it's drawbacks. Every single weapon required you to be able to hunt down multiple high end, basically NM's, most of them requiring a full on raid, and even then you had to be able to win the drop. It was incredibly frustrating at times, but god it felt gratifying when you finished.

That said though, that was structurally a VERY different game than this. That kind of questline, simply would not work that well in a game model like this. And to me, that's kind of the problem. If they were to create the kind of unique experience that people have asked for, without rehashing outdated content, even just for a singular questline like they have now, they'd have to release, honestly, almost a whole major version update's worth of content simply to satisfy the Anima weapon quests alone. It's something more suited to open world games like EQ or FFXI. Less so in games with such an instance focused model. There are only 2 ways I can see to challenge people in a game like this either through sheer difficulty of content, or by volume of work. I don't really see a third option, unless you count, removing challenge all together.

Content too hard? Too much rng? Too much effort for the item you want?

all i think is the quest come late, for my part if 3.2 is comming soon, it's maybe a little rough for anyone doing the relic and want finish in time to use it before other weapon come. i am only to think we should get this relic quest before?^^
    but that's all.
for the crafting issue , if there is one, it's not one.
it's expensive because of the high demand, everyone is doing relic, and because people buy at the current price, this price don't drop or not drop too much.
you can find some crafters if you look for them. (IF you look for them ! set pf for this)
MMO will never be for solo gamer after all.
And also in many game the crafting gear is OP and may be also TOP gear in certain MMO.
How players would whine if it was the case in FFXIV.

If people are complaining about the difficulty level of getting RNG drops and HQ Crafted Items, can you imagine what they would do if SE released exclusive content with that difficulty? I can see riots and pitchforks.

Yep. I agree. As I said, it's not something that would ever work with this game.

it would work but players would not agree.
in many games crafter have this role, but FFXIV players is used to not have the absolute need of crafter exept for food/potion/glamour,and don't like when craft for the relic come.
so the players can say i don't need a crafter and i don't need to levep up some crafter or rely to crafter.
i think it's also a measure against the gold seller and not only to please the players who don't want to rely on craft

Atma 2.x It took me a week to get the Cent Than stone. A solid week for 1 item. This grind is nothing compared to that.

Im so happy, I finally got my 1st crystal on fate 47. A friend said I have really bad rng, he's already almost done working on a 2nd set of crystals and they dropped at a better rate. ><

The Anima is for those of us who can't raid and get Alex's 210 weapon. Also, people who are spamming, say, Alex 1 Normal must don't realize they can also farm up a quick 700 Poetics and buy a Bone flat out. I saw that I got the 700 Poetics faster than queing up DF for Alex 1 Normal ten times for one bone.

Funny you say this, because those HQ items are going for a minimum of 600k on my server. Some are still 1 mil a piece. Those who don't craft are going to get this gil how? lol... The RMTs are probably making a fortune right now.

If someone was 18/20 on the items, in my opinion, I wouldn't blame them if they used RMT to buy the HQ items.

    but you are right,
how any not DOL/DOH make gils ?
spiritbound ? all the Materia IV is too cheap now...
diadem money exchange for materia V i guess but it's pretty time consuming.
without get up DOL or DOH it's difficult to make gils, without DOL you can't get the mat.
to what i say, i was thinking many item was unsellable to prevent RMT, but all unsellable item is what an adventure can get, there a good exemple : Dgn loot, you can exchange it for seals, but if you would sell them or be able to spiritbond them, it would help any not DOL /DOH
I also think all loot would be sellable exept the current best gear (all the locked down and current primals ex one), it would be a market for all the not DOL/DOH can loot, glamour work fine in the game.
Because atm adventurer got almost nothing to resell when griding dgn and others
