Then honestly, that's what people should do. Though I don't see a point. If you aren't planning on seriously doing endgame, there is no reason, at all, beyond pure ego that a person needs a 210 weapon. I do not believe this is a matter of opinion.

i really don't understand the level of complaints over the new relic weapon quests

i mean comparing the Anima Weapon (FFXIV) to the Aeonic weapon (FFXI) quest line

1) Aeonic questline there is no hints in game on how to even get the base weapon

2) step 1 for Aeonic is something like gather 50,000 beads (which have quite a rare drop rate) Vs 18 rare drop item

and that's only for the base weapon

FFXIV is a game, its a MMORPG, with a Pay-to-Play business model, 13$ per month aprox.

You play FFXIV because you enjoy it, because when you have free time you spend that time playing for fun.

Is relic fun? I mean, when you end your homeworks or at the end of workday do you really think "fine, I can play FFXIV and farm my relic now, It's gonna be pretty fun".


Relic is not fun for more people...then,
Why an entertainment company like Square Enix gives us content that is not fun to us?
We are paying for funny content...

From my perspective, Relic is not fun for me, I'm gonna ignore Relic, I have a static in A4S currently and I enjoy raids in FFXIV, I play for raiding, if the relic turn into "mandatory" in the future for raids, just I will leave the game because I'm not gonna farm this madness, but while I can complete content without the relic I'm gonna play ignoring the relic.

People seem to gloss over the fact that good players, I mean way higher than the average this is catered for, spend around 100 hours learning as3 alone before being able to reliably down it.

Add all the time spent in savage together in order to get as4 on farm and you will see that this, given it isn't locked behind a skill cap, isn't that bad. Seen worse.

I'll probably give up soon, I haven't seen a drop yet after a few nights. The weapon it self will be old glamor gear anyways one day. The last relic quest really burned me out. Luckily I have a raid static to enjoy the game with.

they way I see it everyone is always welcome to disagree its this way, lets say you can clear savage 4 every week (only way to get 210 right) and you are really unlucky and your BiS is the actual gordian or you are the last one that gets to roll on the dip because reasons. to get the weapon you would need 8 pages which means 8 weeks of farming which means 2 months, and this weapon will take about the same time to get sooo you want something thats good you gotta work for it equally as everyone else dont expect to get everything handed out to you just cause, imo this is not that bad.

TL;DR you either grind or you git gud same thing.

as for the why need to create new content instead of recycling, take into consideration raiders also want new content but they are stuck spamming the same thing for gear just deal with it and move forward.

That is not the point, the point is:

I kill A4S because I enjoy playing raids, I farm A4S during 2 months because I like raids, It's pretty fun for me and for a lot of people currently raiding in FFXIV, but is relic farm funny? the answer is "no" for more people I think...maybe relic's farm is legit when you compare relic with gordian weapon, fine, but is relic weapon a funny content?

You can not just bring 210 weapons to everyone for free, It's ok, but the point here is SE should give us a funny way to get the relic, but SE just give us the "easy" way for them, They are using current content farm with nothing new...

Bro, you can't say grind or git gud. You can't defend this atrocity of a quest line, SE f-ing slacked HARD with this questline!

They pushed it back hella, theres no unique trials for it, it doesn't take any skill and it takes months of grind. They're pretty much ensuring another few months of paychecks till 3.2, which is fair enough but they should be ashamed of themselves.

The questline is a crap grind, it's recycled content, thank god I skipped out on 2.05 or I would've already been sickened at having to redo old dungeons that I'd have already spent an inordinate amount of time playing.

Ultimately this sums it up, the game is not fun to play right now (other than thordan), and if 3.2 is crap there will be an exodus, believe it! Story was slack in 3.1, dungeons were slack, the raid is slack, especially in normal. The game is just slack and not worth it at the moment.

Stats aren't even worth it honestly on these weapons. And the last step could take weeks to months depending on your Gil total.
