    New Content vs Grind --> Animus Weapon

    I enjoy having a challenge with content. I enjoy trying to work with a group to be able to hopefully overcome a boss, and get something for it. I miss the days of having some gates, ifrit, garuda, and titan.

    I didn't miss the grind that the relic weapon required.

    I'm ok with casual players, and I help others in my free company, and linkshells. I have wiped for hours on savage fights, and extreme primals.

    I am yet continuously thrown a grind, to do OLD content by SE to be able to work towards having an Animus Weapon.

    I understand (partly) why SE does this: Get people who haven't cleared alex regular to clear it, more people queing for stuff, more people doing it. Time spent in game.

    Problem: People are going to use PF to make an A1 with 6 dps, 1 heal, and one tank, and kill it before split, ergo, no new folks getting a clear, and the point of the whole exercise, out the window for the most part.

    Please put some new content in.

    The relic quest was always meant to keep recycling old content to help new players, starting with Fates for 2.0 atma. The reason why some PF groups are resorting to what you mentioned is because the grind is absurd even by old relic standards. Hell, some veteran FFXI players are pretty upset about the anima grind. If one were to only farm alexander for the tokens, it's 800 total runs, at 200 per floor, to get it done. It's a lot of time and patience to sit through all of that, so they may not want to deal with mistakes.

    exactly... SE exaggerated this time with the grinding..., waaaaay exaggerated, its mindless and even unhealthy..., even if there was enough other things to do, and this grinding was ment only to do "en passe", its still madness...

    and my main is BLM, the 210 BLM stats suck... (and the glamour too...)

    SE seriously has to chang this fast.., before others get p1ssed that they didnt change ealrier and they grinded soo much, when its gonna get easier.. (cut the amount of unidentifiable objects needed in half... NOW!!... or they gonna risk many just taking a break till the next update..)

    By the time an average player completes this questline 3.2 will have dropped and 220 weapons will be 990 Tomestones of Unorginality so why bother at all? The math floating around is you can do it in 26 days if you play 100% optimally for 6 hours a day. That's far and beyond the average player's playtime. It's pretty obvious this quest was initially designed to start in 3.0 and for the grind to carry us into 3.2, why else would we be given an i170 version of our esoteric weapons to start the quest if it was "delayed to ensure quality" only to be launched at a point where having 10 i200 weapons is a possibility if someone really wanted to ignore armor?

    The Fate Grind part is really the most annoying part. Had to go through that RNG bullcrap for first relic upgrade and we had to get 12 drops. Now if don't have a Zeta or new job have to do that crappy grind for 18 drops. Either they need to increase the drop rate or eliminate this step and change it. Its bad enough that fates are the go to for leveling alternate classes places fate requirements in theses relic chains is just bad.

    Zeta Weapon should of had the last step skipped. If anything all this Anima Weapon nonsense only serves to pad the game just so players will play the same content over and over again.

    The last step (the token turn in) is the most ridiculous, I imagine these numbers were designed to give hardcore (read: always online) players something to do until the next major content patch. I hope they increase the drop rate for crystals and significantly decrease the amount of tokens needed for turn-in.

    FFXIV is becoming dull and old. Heavensward was suppose to reach heavensward. Instead Heavensward started off in that direction but somewhere along the way the Allegan airship broke down and fell Hellsward.

    Were numbers invented or discovered? How many Moogles does it take to make Kuponut rum? Answer: zero... They will give you a quest to make it.
