Another thread - we need more houses.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Proud long-time owner of a medium house here checking in to say that we really need more houses in-game. Most everyone agrees that owning a player house is something that should require time and effort, but for many people it is just impossible because there are never housing slots available for purchase. Everyone deserves a house if they want to put the work into making the gil--and right now, that basic level of fairness is simply impossible.

Demand for housing has not been met, S-E, no matter what information you have to the contrary.

The screenshot above shows Rare-Ex on Balmung server having bought houses to resell for much higher prices. It also shows a bunch of joke/troll comments below it, ridiculing it. But think for a moment--even if *all* of this were a community joke or troll, it would be a joke about the fact that there are a lot of people who want a house and can't get one, right? The situation just has to be fixed.

The land reclamation feature is a good start, but this screenshot shows how it either could be instantly abused, or how it already *has* been instantly abused. I think the only way to prevent this sort of price gouging is just to put way more houses in than the demand--and that's a long way off.

Here is a quote from the most recent live letter, just a few days ago, that might interest you.

[Q4: We have the auto reclamation this month, but can you please let us know about future addition of land?

A4: We have confirmed that we will be increasing the amount of land for existing housing areas in Patch 3.3. After this we’re planning to introduce mansion type housing, and housing in the Ishgard area. These two are being developed in parallel, but in order to meet everyone’s demand, we will implement the mansion-type housing as a first priority. Currently it’s being planned that one mansion will be able to hold 512 residences. As for gardening, we think this will be difficult, but we’re currently developing new pots that will allow gardening, so please look forward to this.

As for furnishings with high demand, we have a goal now to increase the amount of items which can be placed, so please wait a bit longer.

Is there really even any guarantee that will be enough? Balmung is a big server, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if all the new housing was instantly bought up and there STILL would be a bunch of people who still need housing.

Funny, the issue I see from your Screenshot is some !#$@$-Bag buying up all the lots and reselling them at extreme prices.

But like the first day of everything, people try to sell high then the prices just keeps dropping. I got Ifrit Minion for just 1m after waiting for the prices to fall to a point that I could afford it. Key word is just wait.

Need to be a Ishgardian house area. And just lv 60 who finished the expansion main story can buy it.

Agreed, if everyone can wait on the itchy trigger finger then the prices drop, only when everyone is clamoring for something do the prices sky rocket.
