So Awoken Darkbringer has crit and det, and Claymore of the heavens has crit and party, plus 1+ WD. Which one should I be using before Relic?

I'd actually wager that these two weapons are probably about even in terms of performance. The +1 WD might make up for the fact that it has Parry, so it may be a dead heat.

Yeah, the secondaries on the Awoken Deathbringer actually overcome the negligible parry and make up the difference in the strength stat, but that is as even as they get.
If they had the same weapon damage it would be a wash, but the Claymore of the Heavens is realistically 7 or 8 str equivalent stronger.
I think the stat weight for 1 WD is around 10 main stat. 1 main stat = ~7 crit. Det has a lower weight.
So unless the weapon has essentially garbage secondaries like SS / Parry, WD will usually win out.
