With those stat distributions compared to Heavensfire, I honestly can say that I don't feel assed to even do the step, esp if it means trading in a glowing gun for a (imo) bleh model.

Which gets ruined by Gauss Barrel.

Considering the A4S weps secondary stats are so much better compared to the relics it feels like the only reason to really go for the relic is if u dont have access to the A4S or for only glamour :s.

Even worse for MCH, since 205->210 doesn't increase WD at all. It's literally not worth doing the relic if you have Thordan gun, is my understanding.

We can still do it to prep for the next step which I assume will be in 3.25...but that's not nessescary a good motivator for me to do the quest now considering I probably won't be around for 3.2 at this rate.

The grind is absolutely atrocious though, there's no excuse for something that banal in this day and age. I know there is plenty of precedent from the XI and ARR relic weapons, but those shouldn't exactly be held up as paragons of good design.

Normally I'd agree with you, but there's an interesting tidbit here.

All of this is gated by the very last quest, rather than gated by the first (teh atma). You can work on the third and final section while pitter pattering through the first and just do a little bit each day, assuming all the information released is accurate.

Comes out to like 28,000 poetics and law if you go purely through tomes, but you also get 1 HW map a day if you're a gatherer (Not sure on the drop rate there.), with daily quests if that's your thing. This is where the stop gap is.

You can certainly grind through it if you want (and it seems as if this atma isn't as bad as previous atma; Maybe 2 hours a zone is going to be my conservative guess at this point), but I find that I'm not as turned off by this as I was by previous atma, if only because you can work on the last stage while working on the first and second.

This reverse gating complements a long plan approach, and suddenly I don't feel like I -have- to burn through the previous stages just to see what the next entails as well as having 'access' to that. You couldn't do books for your previous relic until you actually already had your relic, so lateral approaches were non-existentent. Gotta do the atma so you can do the books.

This is, of course, assuming all other information is accurate.

My current plan is do one set of fates every day or two, daily expert as usual for a cool 200 law, gather a map to either exploit its current value or use it myself to see how bad the token drop rate is. Coupled with the gathering / crafting aspect, using the fates to level other classes, the doesn't add too much strain to my daily play and has the side effect of making me be more productive than sitting around the city watching the market board. The main issue I feel I'll run into is the poetic side of the tome grind, but I'll figure something out, or just bite the bullet when I get there.

I think what sold me was the little cookie SE provided us in the cutscene where snooty ore hustler was explaining what we needed to do.

The "ayfkm.jpeg I just did this" face on the Warrior of Light let me know SE is listening.

I was going to hit up MCH gun - being my main. But decided SCH was more worth it. The first 5 steps will be nerfed to oblivion (I expect this before 3.2, I give it 2-3 weeks). There's no use doing it now.

I'm just doing the roulettes and beast tribes. My circumstances hasn't changed from before 3.15, only reason I'm staying is for my static. Though if they decide to flop or disband, Armageddon outta here.

If by some means I do finish it, I;'m just gonna hold onto the items and not turn in it in. I like my glowing gun, kthx.

I basically see it as just a glamour project anyway. That's the only real use for the gun I can see as statwise as others have said it's completely lackluster - and also focusing on stats in a game that is basically a progression threadmill is counterproductive, you will always be chasing the carrot.

I'm not in any particular mood to rush grind it out too, it's a soul crushing grind and I have better things to do with my time.
