Achievements are subjective, so yes, this is an achievement to some. Most of the people complaining have taken one look at the phases and decided "nope", come to the Forums to whine about it with no constructive feedback other than the one thread I've seen, and will probably go ahead with the relic anyway after threatening to unsub. I don't know why people think this is any more grindy than what they've been doing already.

Nobody is being forced to get the relic weapon and there are other weapons available. If you don't want to grind then simply don't.

Achievements aren't entirely subjective. Grinding neither challenges your dexterity or intelligence. Whereas learning and clearing mid/high end content does. All that grinding does is challenge your commitment of spending hours upon hours doing content that requires no skill. That is not commendable in my views.

Some grind isn't a bad thing. Like grinding content that takes skill... as people do with raiding/primals/even alex normal.

There is a grind in the sense of you don't know what will drop or if you will even win the roll. But that is mitigated by increased chances of reward vs skill level.

To some it is a personal achievement. It doesn't matter what trait it challenges. Some people enjoy working towards a goal and the satisfaction of completing it.

Again, there are other weapons available and you're not going to be removed from a party for not having a relic weapon. I would understand if this was the only decent weapon available, but it isn't.
