Honestly, I don't see what this post accomplishes. People who like it will do it, while people who don't like it will stay away from it or suck it up and do it anyway. I've dealt with worse grinds and see this as a long term goal. At least its better than RNG, the last step for Anima gives me progress, however small.

Just my opinion, though. One of many. I'm not going to criticize people who may not like the grind though because I've been on that side of the fence many times before.

Re: there is nothing but the grind.

True! Unless you realize that the Gordian Weapons are on the same power-level. So you could raid instead for the same (really, better) gear. If you want a skill-requirement instead of a time-requirement, there it is.

I think this is good. Now people who don't raid and would rather grind can, and they've got a couple different things/ways to grind to break it up (beast tribe/Alex Normal/Dungeons). Your path to an i210 weapon could go a lot a different ways depending on what's best for you.

If they all suck, don't do it. Literally no content requires an i210 weapon right now.

Unless I remember wrong, doing all the ARR relic isn't mandatory, so really it is a brand new step for those who are just getting into HW, and really I don't understand how people who have played the older content didn't see it coming, so its old to some of us who have done it, but maybe SE just wanted everyone else to know the pain lol

It's just a big ol' lazy slab of grind. No new trials, no new anything. You can't even call it "recycled" because that would imply that things have been changed to keep it fresh. Nope, it's just "go back and do Alex normal 800 times". That's lazy development and should not be defended.

I did the Relic 1 weapon up to Animus for my monks glamour. I have 0 faith in square enix's ability to make anything else nice for monks because they very obviously hate the class. I'd be totally surprised if anything in this quest would make me want to do it. Easy or no. I may go grind some fates for the hell of it though because my FC needs more credits.

How dare you be not excited to grind fates. Do you know how hard it is to look at the 2.0 relic quest line and replicate it step by step? I'd like to see you try. Always blaming the devs instead of being excited at the idea of running 2.1 dungeons, which is precisely what you bought Heavensward for, run content that's been there for a year and know like the back of your hand. Shame on you!

If you do an hours worth of things daily, it will take you a month or two. These were daily things you were probably already doing anyway. It seems the most efficient way is to do a little bit of everything: beast tribes, alex, law. It may even force you to do things that you haven't done recently or try things you haven't done at all.

If you want it NOW then, yeah, it's going to be overwhelming.

We are laboring under the assumption that it will be outdated by February or March, but that may or may not be true. I'm thinking this is a series of progressions that will scale with the savage drop and/or eventually surpass them. If it becomes/remains BiS for most of 3.xx, it will be worth it. If SE proves otherwise with the 3.2 patch notes, then, yeah, there's the screw up. Not the grind itself.

Yes that is correct, everyone looks at it as in they have to have it within a month. If you look at it on a list it looks harder than it is.

Maybe they should have required Thordan Ex and some savage clears as an equivalent to the HM primals. But that's too hard for most people (even if A1S is pretty easy now with the gear we have, basically titan hm difficulty in 2.0 imo).

The difference is that 2.0 relics, particularly the first stage, launched with new content which at least dulled the sting of grinding. People have been running Alex for months now, the beast tribe dailies even longer, and the level 60 roulette for law is just neverreap/fractal. There is nothing new or interesting or innovative. The only thing SE could have done to be even lazier would have been to just sell gobdips in idyllshire for 30k Law. Oh but no we get a few cutscenes, joy of joys.

When people complain about 2.0 relics, they don't complain about the first stage because it was actually fun to do. You can fly through it in an hour now, but on release it was difficult and took a lot of time. Chimera and Hydra were unique instances exclusively for that quest. You had to fight the three Primals again but they were completely different fights than in the story, and their inclusion made the Relic quest feel tied in to the main scenario.

This new relic is some straight up Korean F2P MMO bot farm bs. At least when XI made you farm 30,000 whatevers it was for a weapon that would be BiS for seven years and fundamentally changed the way your class played. Here it's just for whatever, do you have anything better to do? May as well do more of the same shit you've been doing all year.
