HOW TO GET YOUR REPLICA ZETA

In response to the OP, and to others who have put the time into getting their Zeta: Nothing can take this away from you, and unlike me, you got to experience your Zeta while it was the most powerful weapon in the game. I have so much admiration and envy for you guys.

I am doing the questline because it is interesting, and because I want at least a taste of what you guys went through, even if the grind has been nerfed. Doing the Animus upgrade which I believe has not been changed was without question the hardest part for me thus far. You couldn't get me in three dungeons a week, and I was doing three dungeons a night; I even soloed Aurum Vale @ iLv123 to test my solo ability, and because I have this OCD thing with avoiding exp points. It really pushed my anxiety limits to the test as a healer, and I took two nights away from the game to regather myself after the books were finished.

You can get a replica, sure. But all it says is I got this cool glowy weapon in the easiest manner possible. You examine someone and see that their Zeta version is not a replica, you KNOW they wen't through some shit, and a lot of it. As far as becoming obsolete so quickly being only iLv135; it's all about perspective. And from my perspective, I like to think that my Zeta continues to consume energy. It eats every codex proceeding it under the guise of a glamour!

Ohhh that poor, poor soul! It's ridiculous to run a dungeon that many times even if a blind monkey with downs could do it easily. But AV before it could be plowed? Just something not right about that. SE should give him/her an exclusive flying Marlboro mount!

Anywho, good news to hear that the drops on those items are 100%. I don't mind multiple runs, I just don't want all the exp from them. Dungeons like Brayflox HM and The Lost City of Amdapor I could run no matter how many times SE shoves them down my throat. I LOVE those instances!

About two months ago I decided that I wanted the sch arr relic so I did the whole thing, and from start to finish it took about 2-3 weeks. However, this was when I was level 60, had loads of free time, already had some tomes and gc seals, was able to craft everything myself, and had the gil to buy everything else that I needed.

Most of the steps only took a couple days. The worst part, by far, is still the waiting on fates for the animus step (believe it or not, this step has been nerfed too. It used to be 100 enemies per book, I think). My tip for the light farming is soloing Ifrit nm, since no one does light farming parties anymore. He gives very little light, but you don't need a party and can kill him in about 20 seconds.

It has been significantly nerfed, yes. I'm sure there are people who can get it done much faster, but for those who actually have lives outside of the game, it will still take some time, effort, and resources.

Oh, I misunderstood then, I think. I know you have to get it the first go, but I was under the impression you can just get replicas for other jobs if you have got a least one Zeta?

Only finished weapons get replicated. Gerold don't replicate weapons he have not created yet.

Nope. If you want any replica of any job's 2.x relic stages, you must have gotten its zeta and either 1) bring it with you to the dude in North Shroud, or 2) trade it in for the 3.x anima step, which will cause the game to "remember" that you had it and unlocks replica purchase for that weapon without having to carry it with you anymore (since you will no longer have it)

Ok gotcha. So it works a bit like a calamity salvage NPC. That makes more sense than what I was thinking lol.

No need to get so hostile... That was back in the days when it was current content and it sucked extremly to have a dungeon like AV that synchs you down (remember there were times when unsyched wasnt a thing) and get stuck on it and at the same time watch all your friends get their drops and move on to other dungeons because they dont want to run that place for the 6th time in one day... so yes, that poor soul
