i'd definetly post in the bug formus or something to see if maybe they can help you out. I hope it gets fixed for you real quick so you can play.

Is it redownloading the launcher? Because that's required, they updated the launcher. After that redownloads, then you can sign in and download the patch.

Well, I would love to download the patch but, once again, the launcher refuses to update, giving me that the unable to do version check error nonsense. On PS4, by the way.

Seriously, why does this even happen? And the nail on the head is that when I tell my PS4 to check for updates, it has the audacity to tell me its up to date.

Dear FFXIV team, can you look into this? I have gotten this error since the last patch-up and is incredibly annoying. Its good that the problem seems to resolve itself after some time, but I do not have the time to just wait around 1-6 hours for the launcher to get over itself and get the update. Thank you.

The maintenance was extended to 6:30am EST. So that's probably what caused those errors.

Steam is redownloading everything >< its gonna redownload and install ARR then ask me to instal HW then the update >< had this happen back when HW came out aswell but didnt have this issue for 3.1 ; ;

Quick update on my end about the non-responsive launcher. During my many, many restarts of the app on my PS4, one time, just once, it told me there was a network error. However, I accidentally pressed a button on my remote and it went away before I could write the error code and the link it gave me

Any ideas? I have been trying to download the update and patch for over an hour now. This never happened before, it started to happen right around the last hotfix for the game and now I worry that this will become a problem every time an update or hotfix comes around. Well, I can forget any and all notions of getting into the game early after patches from here on out.

Still unable to update. Giving up for now.

Things I tried were closing the launcher and opening it back up, running as administrator, clearing internet files, clicking on ffxivupdater in the folder (dunno if that would help in the first place, but it did not), updating to latest driver, and resetting the settings in the launcher.

I had the exact problem, i did what this post said and it worked for me. Good luck!

Turned computer off while I slept, and when I started it up and clicked on the launcher, it finally started updating.
