I see to recall that there was mention that the personalized stats would carry over, or that the stats would be slightly better with a trade-in. Not quoting, just mentioning what I recall.

For all you know, the first step is focused on building up the secondary steps of the new relic, and turning in your old one transfers over the stats. Conjecture to prove a point doesn't get you anywhere.

As I said, not quoting. Just something I thought I heard mentioned in the live letter for 3.1. I'm not saying it's true. I might have misheard or misunderstood.
