Suggestion: mentor flag

Essentially, a searchable status that, when turned on, puts an icon next to your name indicating that you are willing to help newbies (or anyone really) with gameplay questions.

I also suggest giving it a high display priority, but leaving it below disconnecting, viewing cutscenes, or other statuses that might prevent the player from answer. I'm assuming it would be mutually exclusive with player-selectable statuses like /busy and /afk.

I also suggest giving it higher priority than all other statuses except disconnection.

Not so sure about this part, though. It could certainly have a higher priority than things like waiting on duty finder queue, but statuses that would make you temporarily unavailable for answering questions (like AFK or watching a cutscene) should probably displace it until you're back.

No idea if this tiny thread had anything to do with it but there's some nice news from the live letter:

The Mentor System (Tentative)

This system will allow veteran players to be called “Mentors” for Disciple of War/Magic and also Disciples of the Land and Hand. Once players become a “Mentor” they will be able to use a system which will help new adventurers. This is basically a system where people can help out. Players will be able to use features such as a roulette called the “Mentor Roulette.”
