They're all unique events each year without the nice gear being locked out behind some cash shop purchases like some F2P MMOs I've played? If that's the case, then it's impressive.

Of course they all “recycle” some things every year but also add new stuff, we (FFXIV players- a P2P game) only gets a cheap quest to do 1 time in 30 min, that’s not an event but a seasonal quest.
For example on 2014 GW2 includes the same 2012 stuff with new rewards and also login rewards + dynamic events https://www.guildwars2.com/es/the-ga...ember-16-2014/ all the F2P games includes ALWAYS some cash items on seasonal events, FFXIV do the same when includes new items to the cash shop, that’s completely normal. But we only get cash items + 1 quest everytime.
Same formula for Valentine ’s Day / Halloween / Summer / etc

So disappointed in the event this year. The christmas tree was used last year and the "garments" are just...ugh. That cloak on the miqote was amazing.

Part of me prays that they're holding back on things to ramp up to something huge. But also part of me knows that it won't and we'll follow our same rotation since 2.0

I'd prefer the beautiful cloak/hood, too, but I'm also a bit relieved we're not getting it, since they'd find a way to ruin the male version (if they bothered to give males an item at all).

It's nice to finally get a tree for inside, though. The outdoor trees are nice, but not having one to put the presents under inside was kind of a bummer.
