What is crossbow type that you want to see in this game?

You know Billy Lee Black from Xenogears?

He wields two revolvers (Handgun); two short rifles of unlimited ammo, each one hidden in a sleeve of his trenchcoat (Ether-gun), and a powerful shotgun that he pulls from his back (Big gun).

He changes weapons mid-combo when changing between weak, medium and strong attack. That would be cool in this context.

I feel like there is still a strong desire for a dual wielding gun class like that of Admiral Merlwyb, so maybe a dual wielding light crossbow user would be a nice substitute.

the trouble with crossbow is outside repeating crossbow, that are quite bulky, you generally need to reload the crossbow....

with a world a la FF14 we can get gun or even magigun that will more fitting that crossbow sadly. only my personal thought.

Guns made crossbows obsolete historically since both have the same firepower, but you can smack someone more easily with a gun.

Maybe auto crossbow like one from Van Hellsing movie that had a cylinder to it. It could be reloaded really fast and held huge amount of bolts.

FFXIV's long GCD could cover the reload time.

Whatever requires the bolt to actually be launched by the string, rather than, say, the string staying put while bolts launch through muzzle flashes...
