Except that this MMORPG is like a smorgasbord of content. A smorgasbord isn't a great option if you only eat Steak and potatoes because you're only partaking in a small slice of what is available. The same is true in this game. There is so much to do, and a wide variety in the type, style and difficulty of the content. But, for people who think that MMORPGs are about end-game raiding, the game appears to lack content.

If you join the game now, there is a near literal mountain of content to climb, from that perspective there is absolutely no lack of content. But from the point of view of those at the top of that mountain, there is no where to go because you're at the peak. Do you know what mountaineers do once they've climbed the mountain? They try a different route, or they help others up the mountain, or they head back to the hotel, relax with a drink and tell all the wannabe climbers the stories of the peaks that they have visited. What they don't do is sit atop the peak and look down at the new resort that was just built halfway up the mountain and complain that the in-door rock climbing experience is a pointless distraction from actually climbing the mountain.

I dare say some of those expert mountaineers reach the top, and then head back down to the resort, then play on the rock climbing experience for fun while they plan the next assent to the peak, or perhaps even an alternate climb on another mountain. Either way, they don't sit around in the bar complaining that what was spent on the resort should have been used to build a better base camp on the next mountain.

To your smorgasbord example: It's like all the sandwiches are boring bologna sandwiches, with a few chicken or steak ones here and there. You ate the good stuff, and all that is left is bologna. Sure there are many different types of bologna sandwiches but they are all bland and boring.

What do "new players" have in terms of content? The main dungeons they do once or twice to get to 60 and the MSQ. All of which are either one-offs, or have no reason to go back to again. Then they are back to where everyone else is. SE should stop trying to cater to "new" players, and work on keeping their current players in. That was the supposed point of Heavensward but it seems it isn't the case. Sooner or later, new players become old.

No, not at all.

Yes, you could level other classes, play an Alt or whatever you want to define "level everything at 60". Or, you could run the side quests, see the sights, craft, gather, fish, fly, work on your glamours, work on your house, help your Free Company, talk to your friends, make new friends, help newbies, etc...

You are effectively defining the game content as MSQ plus dungeons and raids. What about all the other things that you can do in the game? I mean, I'm sorry if you're bored, but just because you don't want to do anything else in the game it doesn't make the game bad or light on content, it simply means you've run out of things that interest you.

If the answer for you is not to broaden your interests in the game, then as in any game where there is a finite amount of content (*every* game), once you have done what interests you, you will gradually become bored.

You are literally doing what I just said. You are listing of "things" in the game, that aren't fun or basic features of an MMO. Socialization? What? That isn't even content, that's just an aspect of MMOs. Next your gonna tell me "you can sort your inventory!".

The core game is dungeons, story, and raids. Or should they release three more LoVs (dead on arrival lol), Chocobo Races, and Triple Triads to drive that point home?

Everyone's been leveling in all zones, don't tell me you did it with your eyes closed. Craft/Gather/Fly ????? To me they're a means of making money, busywork and a chore. I like combat. Spent several millions on glamours. My house is fine. Social interactions is par for the course in online games and not something uniquely on offer in this game. I'm having just as much fun messing about with my static mates on LINE chat outside the game.

It's a themepark running out of rides, don't pretend it's not. And don't pretend like people haven't already played this game for countless hours. I think we've been flying for long enough, the new and shiny has worn off and they did nothing really interesting with it - We're still just teleporting around.

Let's not forget the core content of setting up your hotbars, walking around town, configuring your graphic settings, etc.

Yesss, level classes that you can't use because the gear is on a lockout, or level your crafters that you can't use because the recipies are restricted to specializations and the mats to desynth, collect TT cards by spamming the same dungeon/map till you get it, collect minions by spamming the same dungeon/map till you get it, work on your glamour by spamming the same dungeon/map till you get the rare mat, work on your house by spamming the same dungeon/map till you get that rare mat, enjoy the Gold Saucer and their 1.4years long term goal rewards, or literally stand still in the same spot for an indefinite amount of time hoping you get the right weather to use an emote.

They need to add something new, something interesting, like Blitzball, duel request anywhere/anytime, an open PvP map, free camera and movie directing mode, climbing, swimming (and underwater content), make linkshell looks like smartphone and let us use FF Portal App, play Record Keeper and other retro FF games on it, can purchase FF music and replace in-game OSTs freely, randomly turn players into l'Cie for a short time period, add new jobs sooner than later, etc.

I dunno. I have never siren this active in a long time, people are sure having a blast with the relic grind lol
