What we suffer is "the curse of knowledge". For new people, most of the dungeons after level 24 is considered "intense". For us, we just don't understand why newbies do not "get the mechanic" when everything is spelled out for you right in front of your screen... For them Brayflox is HARD ("you want me to Esuna all of you? move out of the way? and cure three people???), Sunken Temple is "ZOMG WTF was that", Cutter's Cry was "intense" and Titan "baby trial" was "fck this, I swear I ran and out of the train track from hell".
Leveling can be fun when you are running dungeons with friends. Of course a *lot* of people treat the leveling portion of the game almost like a solo game, because that's what they enjoy. But if you have a group of friends that just like to run stuff and chatter as they go, that is the best way, and what the game is about IMHO.I am leveling till 54 and i feel the quest was rather repeative and kinda slow. I actually prefer fate leveling but the process is kinda slog as the experience given is low plus in high level i notice no one is doing fate for leveling.... Please kindly advice how you guys actually manage to level till 60....
Too many times people convince themselves that an MMORPG is about end-game raiding. It's not, it's about being multi-player online. So playing in a chillaxed group and chatting all night long, making new friends even, that is core to an MMORPG, more so in a game that is almost exclusively PvE and cooperative, rather than competitive.
Levelling a first class to 60 is a real slog, but the armoury bonus and the general boost to EXP gains in 3.1 made it much easier to level up alts, I have just been running dungeons and doing daily beast tribes. First class to 60 was Arcanist and I was power levelling with friends (a Paladin, a Monk and a Machinist) when HW came out, so it was relatively painless, if a bit tedious.
I find that doing your daily roulettes (levelling, level 50, trial) and beast tribes on the class you are levelling makes it quite quick, you will get roughly 3/4 of a level a day, depending if you throw some dungeons or fates in there. Queues are quick for tanks but generally slower for DPS, run the latest HW dungeon and do beast tribes/fates in between, maybe do some unfinished quests, if its yer first, do quests, since unlike dungeons, the EXP doesn't scale up with level.
Challenge Log. You can squeeze and amazing amount of exp out of that thing. I levelled my AST to 60 easily by doing only the Roulette, Dungeon, Fate and Levequest challenges. At level 58 I was pulling in around 500, 000 a week on the Challenge Log alone (and you still get the exp from the dungeons, roulettes, fates and leves).
What part of "ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu
R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" don't you understand?
Leve's are easily abused, most people have built up a surplus and so you can burn through them for power leveling, especially if you're Chocobo is leveled and skilled to help you in Leves...Challenge Log. in my opinion, the best way to have fun while leveling, is get some friends together who want to level also(or just wanna hang out with you and run dungeons together. The game is a bore if you're trying to solo it, but with friends, and a few laughs it can be a blast. My friends and I all do a skype call together and just laugh up a storm the entire time
Same way you make fishing more fun. The tried and true method of beer. If you are a minor, "Leveling builds character. So suck it up and just do it."
OP, as mentioned before just try to make some friends and try to do dungeons together. You mentioned that dungeons need to drop gear around your level, which they do but only if you do the ones in your level range. Roulette is only good for the daily bonus and then its useless. Queue for individual dungeons close to your level, 51 and 52 Dusk Vigil, 55 and 56 The Aery, etc
Leveling alt jobs in this game is a boring grind - I hate to say it but it is my opinion. The devs love to tout "be all the things on one character" which is great for gathering/crafting but horrible for battle classes unless you love to grind dungeons.. I enjoy this game a lot but normally at this point in an MMO (~ 6 months in) I would have tons of alts - but even leveling 2 alt jobs to 60 was a chore (I don't dungeon grind - I like to see them once or so for story and done.)
