what to do at level 50 (gear wise)

So, i recently hit level 50 for the fist time on my bard. and a guild mate of mine was kind enough to craft ilvl 115 gear for me in all slots. Story wise i have been continuing the story quest as well as a few other to unlock heavenward content, but have been wondering. is it worth looking to better my gear before hevensward? Right now what i see myself doing is grinding out tombstones of poeticy to get the ironworks gear. i already got the chest piece and am half way there to the leg pieces. Also, I would like to main machinist when i unlock it, so the ironworks gear would be able to double for when my machinist gets level.

i'd advise you save trouble and go ahead with gear your fc mate crafted for you. also, bear in mind, that all HW quests have a craftable HQ gear rewards upon completion, plus you'll find plenty in dungeons. if you're onto unlocking content before proceeding further, i'd say just make use of poetics you'll get by doing level 50 dungeons\trials\etc., but don't go farming them on purpose, as it's not really worth the trouble anymore.
Also, as you probably know, there's no way to get poetics weapon, unless you will somehow complete Crystal Tower weekly or beat t11-13 =)

Actually you can get poetics weapon because they made Encrypted Tomestones purchasable with just Poetic tomes.

You get 50+ gear from HW quests, as well as being able to buy them straight from a vendor. I'd suggest running with crafted gear until those are available to save time, you'll replace tome gear in a level or two anyways.

Run with crafted gear if you want to, alternatively, pick up Ironworks iLvl120 gear and if Poetics are plentyful, upgrade it to the 130 augmented and you can safely use that until about Lvl56.

I just finished gearing up about five on my level 50 jobs that I intend on getting to 60 some day. You can very easily farm content to get poetics; like dungeons, raids, and trials. You can chain que trials that people don't do a lot so you can maybe snag a poetics bonus as well. You can also hunt, as they yield poetics and you will also get Centurio seals (which you need for level 60 end-game gear upgrade for now).

I hunted a full chain of A rank hunts and did my roulettes and ended up with 2000 poetics in the end. I spent it on the encrypted tomestone, a carbontwine, 10 poetic tickets and 2 accessories. This was just from one cycle of A ranks too,

i bought my friend all the i115 gear from HW and crafted some right side
then pulled him thro a lot of the lv50 dungeons as my tank and he got enough poe to make the 130 bow lol
