    Automatic Combo Weaponskills Changing in 1 slot in Hotbar?

    Dear Devs,

    Any chance in future we'll have Weaponskills automatically changing to the next combo Weaponskill/Proc'ed action (& back to base skill once proc runs out?) while occuping one slot? :x It's not like the 2nd or 3rd combo skills are used standalone...

    It would free up prime real estate on our crossbars (PS4) and also allow you to add in more skills & combos abilities for future expansions.

    And free us (PS4/Controller) player base to not try make work around with hotbar macro swapping.

    It's not to the point that we press only 1 button for everything. It'd allow for different branching combo trees and such which can be seen in other action orientated games.

    It'd be a improvement over the current 'hotkey every action in a combo onto the hotbar' interface :x

    I doubt they'd ever implement such a thing.

    The system works fine as it is. I play on PS4 and don't use more than two hotbars for any class.

    Also almost every job that has a 1-2-3 combo has it branch off in some way to at least one other skill (only exception is DRG)

    So it's not that simple

    It actually is pretty simple, it just takes usually 3 buttons to hold the tree.


    There are problems with it, however. First is lag. Combo actions already refuse to light up during lag, and treeing them would make this worse by forcing you to push the tage 1 over and over. Second is resetting. Sometimes you use 1->2, then realize you need to pop your other 2 on something, so you go back to 1 on your next hit instead of waiting for 3. The tree would be replacing your 1's key and prevent this.

    Take ROG/NIN as an example and what comes after Spinning Edge. Depending on which debufs are already in place (and on whether any skills have been lost to level sync) I may want any of the following combo chains:

    Spinning Edge > Shadow Fang
    Spinning Edge > Gust Slash > Dancing Edge
    Spinning Edge > Gust Slash > Aeolian Edge
    Spinning Edge > Gust Slash

    So, if it were possible to make combo slots, I'd still need 4 slots worth of Spinning Edge combos, and likely a 5th slot for a command to reset them all back to the beginning, for cases when I'm doing something else long enough for the combo effects to wear off, or an attack failed so its combo didn't trigger. Five combo slots for the various ways to combine five actions wouldn't really be saving any hotbar space.

    I'd also want to be able to wait, for instance, until after Gust Slash to decide whether I'm going for the Dancing Edge or Aeolian Edge combo, especially if I'm switching between targets. That means all four of the combo slots would need to update according to what I'd done in the other three. It ends up a lot messier than just having those 5 slots for each of the individual skills involved, as we have now, where I can use and combine them however I wish.

    (Similarly, I could replace my slots for the Ten, Jin, Chi, and Ninjutsu skills with slots for Fuma Shuriken, Katon, Raiton, Hyoton, Huton, Doton, and Suiton mudras, but replacing 4 skills with 7 doesn't exactly save space either, not to mention the fact that it would completely eliminate the whole mudra forming mechanic from the game.)
