So this thought crossed my mind, while I get why SE is hesitant to really put a dynamic aspect to certain fights like fire resist, ice resist and even other types of resist onto gear to help with fighting, why not integrate it into older content, as a way to encourage players to not only try older content but to obtain gear which they can then use to make those synced battles easier.
It could be something basic like. Ifrit drops a ring that weakens Shiva's AOE attacks, and to make the fight easier people woudl farm for that ring while also farming for the other gear that he drops, and each piece of ifrit's gear could also have a unique aspect like. Tank body piece could reduce dmg dealt to them from shiva by 25%. Melee/Mage Gloves could increase dmg dealt to shiva by x amount. Healer Head could augment heals to have a barrier against ice damage etc etc.
SE is going to run themselves ragged because they currently don't appreciate older content, they made fun fights, but then they allowed people to overgear and turn them into cake walks. Don't people always comment on how much fun the fights are when they first came out, before people overgear, skip mechanics and bumrush it because death isn't as "Scary" as it was when it first came out, cause as weeks go by it became easier and easier because of overgearing.
So why not take a step back, think less about "what new things we could make" but rather "What new items could we add as rewards to these sync dungeons" and "What unique effects could we add to some of these items to help them in other synced content"
Think about it, it would be a lot less work to create new reward for syncing content and making new gear to put into those content than it would be to makea new dungeon, new bosses, new areas etc etc. It's rehashing, but witha purpose, make the badass looking Ifrit, titan, shiva, mog, garuda, etc etc etc primal gear, for each piece one would always have a unique ability to aid you in fighting another primal/content "as long as you do it synced" and overall I think it would honestly make the game bit more fun to introduce these new ways to challenge yourself that isn't just Spam Alexander Savage til you complete it and have nothing else to do.
Instead it could be, well we finished Savage, why don't we try doing the "synced at recommended level" fight for Ifrit and work our way all the way to Shiva. Lots of loot could be added to the game and all the devs would have to do is create coding that adds new gear when doing it synced and then making sure the passive traits on certain gear activated properly against the proper primals.
