PS4 hotbar QOL

As someone who likes to dabble in pvp and pve, I find the most annoying thing is the fact despite creating a pve gear set and a pvp gearset the hotbars for them both have to be identical.

Now there is a work around in using the unused slots, but when it comes to the expanded hotbar you need to mess around with configuration everytime you switch between the two.

I would to be able to create gearsets for the same job with its own individual hotbar please.

Well, there are macros for changing gearsets 'on the fly', but as for hotbars. Well, we do have 8 hotbars per class/Job/Extra Job. On Bard I'm only really using 2 and a half hotbars (one being the default utility hotbar). Changing hotbar could be as easy as holding 'select' for a second. But this doesn't seem like the answer you want.

I have str Paladin and vit Paladin gear sets. Both are saved in their own gear set, both are mapped to unique spots on the hot bar. Am I missing what you're asking for here?

He's asking to have different hotbars for each gear set. I tried this once upon a time, making two separate gear sets and assumed I could also let them have their own hotbar. Nope.
If I was still PVPing, I would like that QoL update as well.

Hotbar 1 PVE
Hotbar 2 (expanded) PVE

Hotbar 3 PVP
Hotbar 4 (expanded) PVP

Yes its easy to swap hotbar 1 and 3 over that's not the issue, in order to actually use Hotbar 4 instead of 2 as your expanded bar, you need to go into character configuration screen and select it. I just would like to skip this process.

I haven't got in to PVP ,but I do work with Macros a lot you have 8 cross hotbar templates but you can have a macro change to or remap any of the of the templates. I do it with my Stance Dance macro I made a video on it if you want to see and massage me if you have any questions.

I support Gear set specific hotbars. Would def be a good QOL change.

Just copy/paste the hotbars between class and job with a macro.
Or use keyboard & hotbar for PvP and controller & crossbar for PvE

Best work-around is making macros to assign hotbar slots. It will take a bit of time to set up but you only have to do it once. I forgot the specific syntax, look at the macro command help for more detailed but basically something like:

/chotbar set "Action Name" 2 LDL

Basically just do that for every move you want to assign, "LDL" references L2 - D-pad - Left. (RDL would be R2 - D-pad - Left, etc), and the "2" is for cross hotbar 2. There are whole set of acronym's for each position, they are all in the macro command help. At the end you'll just have 2 macros (pvp and pve) and they will re-assign all actions accordingly. You can still use just 2 hotbars, and this won't effect the expanded hotbar, just be sure to assign everything in the right place.
