Since a lot in this game is similar to FFXI you can expect most of the jobs in that game to come here sooner or later, such as dancer, geomancer, (corsair's spot may have been taken) etc. but like AST they may surprise us with unique to the game jobs. "machinist" is pretty much ranger for example. Without the bow option.

Machinist is already an existing job in previous Final Fantasy games.

The devs don't like the class->job system and have repeatedly said so.
You can give them a kiss of the wasp like buff, so they will change the effect of the skill when it is active. I don't know any dps class that would intentionally turn off a permanent 20% buff.

I think I remember reading that BLU was developed in Thavnair. Blue Magic exists in the setting, even though you can't use it as the player.

Ala Mhigo might be the centerpiece among a few zones in that part of the map, much like how Ishgard is the centerpiece in the region including Dravania and Abalathia along with Coerthas. Also, if that region is next, that means we'd also be in the neighborhood of Doma as well, meaning Samurai could be next (probably more likely given that it's gotten more player demand).

If we do get something out of Thavnair though, I am hoping for Blue Mage just because the beast skill element can be handled just like how Summoner was with learning Egi summons.

Having played all three of the "extra" jobs it's pretty clear that they were initially planned out as branches from existing base classes, but after seeing how ACN to SCH/SMN played out, SE opted against it. Nearly every ability prior to level 30 has a cognate skill to CNJ, GLD, and ARC - the classes play identical to the extra jobs synced below 30. It's only at 30+ that the classes are significantly different. I believe they rolled them out as "extra" jobs at level 30 to avoid someone with the base class at 50 having an unfair advantage. I wasn't thrilled with that decision, but I can see why they did it. If 30 AST had started with my 50 CNJ, I'd have only 5 quests before getting tossed into endgame situations, and that just wasn't going to work.

Umm... Doma is on the continent of Othard, we're on the continent of Aldenard and Ala Mhigo is also on this continent. I believe Thavnair is across the sea - possibly on the islands the Sharlayan's emigrated to after they left the Hinterlands, and that is meant to be much closer to Othard than Aldenard.

From what I've read of Ala Mhigo, it was actually supposed to be quite advanced and civilized. The Little Ala Mhigans we know are those resentfuls that had ran away 20 years ago when Garlemald invaded and have become exceptionally militant with the goal of getting their home back. However, it is my belief that most of the advanced craftsmen of the country were captured and forced to assimilate to Garlean ways or die. With this in mind it's possible that Red Mage or Blue mage may come from Ala Mhigan society (heck, Blue Mage seems to make a lot of sense if things ultimately don't stray far from the culture we know of Little Ala Mhigo)
