I'm going to go out on a limb and say it has something to do with the fabric wings and vest that they have.No one understands how the cats fly. And any attempts to do so are met with a furious flurry of punching and scratching. Not to mention gaelicats have made previous appearances in the franchise, and having them fly rather than full sized humans (or potatoes) is less ridiculous looking.
I also don't think a person with a wingpack is going to look any less "ridiculous" than flying Magitek Armor and Fat Chocobos.
Except that's not how it works, or if it's even fabric. The matter of fact is no one even knows why the damned cats evne have it in the first place, other than the possible explanations that they are voidsents/demons or literally the spawn of the seven hells/Satan.
Because mechanical mounts can't be augmented to fly. Not to mention fat chocobos have always been a nonsensical thing, most people are willing to accept that they (since chocobos can also fly) are able to fly, let alone run at the speed they are. There's lines and willing suspensions that need to be made somewhere, otherwise we might as well let pigs and gigantoads fly (which even the game itself quips at beause giganpole can fly, and somehow lose this abilty after spawning legs, but no one wants flying gigantoads)
Except we aren't that race now, are we?Originally Posted by BigBossCL;3477326
But that's still not Final Fantasy, right gaiz?

its all opinion either way, and not in the least gamebreaking.
Whoever said that these wings wouldn't be mechanical in nature? Why so vehemently against something that's literally not immersion breaking in...the... slightest.Because mechanical mounts can't be augmented to fly. I'd prefer personal Jet Pack made by Cid over wings.

And then we have this.
But that's still not Final Fantasy, right gaiz?
I still like the idea of wings in this game. I wouldn't even mind a glamor piece with some draconic wings. A mount works great too, and could be a cool feature - to have a 'wings' mount that you put on the characters back that enables them to fly. Mechanic, Draconic (Heavensward theme fitting), Angelic, Aetheric.... Man, I'd only use those wings if they were in the game. It'd look so much better than most of these mounts we have.
i'm okay with Aether or mechanical wing mounts. not okay with feather/leather wings.
Actually they got those Atlus's Tactics Ogre stuffs in this game, why wouldn't they put Canopus' wings in here too? Just kidding.
