Deliverance also means what it sounds like...delivering something. And in this case, you are delivering them to their death. Is that so hard to see XD

Personally, I'm just waiting for MNK's to get a skill that's a Hamon reference, given the amount of Jojo references we already have.
But that's just me.
Warriors are just the one true form of delivery boys. If you're doing quests without your WAR soul crystal, you're doing it wrong
While i agree that Elixir Field makes sense in the justification of MNK, you're kind of wrong on this account.
PGL is the one that earns Second Wind. A term very often used by athletes, runners, boxers (in particular) etc. to refer to a burst of energy after one has initially hit 'the wall' of exhaustion where they feel they can't push on. After enduring through the wall, they usually find a resurgence of breath/energy and continue to push further. Given the class, and possibly the localization, there's nothing mystical about Second Wind at all, it's just a result of the PGL's fisticuff training.
Ah, I see. So let's call Fire I "Field of Death" because if you use it a lot on many enemies, you create a field of death with it.
Also, let's rename "Esuna" to "Aphrodisiac", because your group will love you if you use it properly.
You can say that, but if you look at the animation, the character definitely strikes a very martial arts pose with a small stamp. There's also the fact that during the animation you can clearly see energy being drawn into the pc through the atmosphere, so it's possibly a result of martial arts training.
You don't have to take the name literally.
Those sound so lame. Nice try though.
EDIT: Fire and Esuna have been recurring name spells in previous Final Fantasies while the abilities like Invincible, Defender and Destroyer I'll assume have been in XI only. Naturally, It would be awful to rename both Fire and Esuna.

Lame is subjective. I find german song lyrics lame, but my father loves them. I am just making fun of your attempt to make connections between the functionality and the name, because they're so counter-intuitive that they're proving my point of these names being misleading.
Hallowed Ground, as others have mentioned, gives the impression of a ground AoE effect in the same vein as Sacred Soil, Asylum, Salted Earth. Name wise I find it better than Invincible, but doesn't actually fit with the PLD since they're not religiously bound in XIV compared to previous iterations.
I like Defiance, and so far I look at Deliverance as you entering a stage where you fully liberate your inner beast/power to take over (as opposed to keeping it under control), leading to a state of abandon in return for more damage.
Haven't done the HW WAR quests yet though, so chances are my interpretation is already debunked there.
