Discussed to Death

Hello!

I'm sure everyone is buzzing about the 2.0 unveiling and even more so over the payment system rearing it's head towards us. This is yet another beast left before us to face. I was just curious how people in general feel about paying for this game for another year before 2.0 comes out as well as state my opinion. I know there are tons of threads on this already, but clearly I understand this due to my title.

Up until now, I certainly thought they wouldn't have us paying monthly for this game until possibly 1 of 2 things occurred, or perhaps both. 1) PS3 Release and/or 2) An Expansion. I've been taken aback at the suddenness to the announcement that neither of these things will occur before Square Enix expects people pay monthly for this game. And on top of that, with only a few months notice.

I try to swallow this bitter pill because I certainly want to play this game in the future, but you look at the pocketbook and groan. It's hard to place money on something that still has problems with it that you complain about every single time you play. You stay for the glimmers of hope and breaks in the clouds with this game, however, this news is really heavy for me.

I'm not sure about others, but with employment down in North America and the cost of living growing, it's hard to decide what people should spend their money on. I'm not sure if more flashy concept art and promises of what people have desired this entire time are enough to get people to stay.

On the other hand, some people have been wanting this to occur as well. They want to support Square Enix and the Final Fantasy name and some may even want to weed out those not dedicated enough to pay for such a game.

I'm still undecided and I'd love to hear some well-thought out ideas and decisions from other players that post on here. Help convince me or steer me away. =p

My self I am waiting to see what's in patch 1.20 before i decide, the moogle primal migth be to much to pass up

There is at least 5-6 threads relating to this, can people please stop creating new threads to post their personal feelings/problems and instead post in the already existing ones?

Clicking random new thread topic just to find out its the almost exactly the same spam you've read multiple times the very same day, it gets a bit annoying.

It's rude to post in someone's topic and not mention anything of the topic at hand. Please stick to topic. (Sorry to annoy you, but several threads about the subject make it clear to the devs that it IS indeed a concern. I'm not posting this here for you, I am for like-minded people and others that wish to continue to discuss this in a slightly different light of other threads. "Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess!")

So if one day there are 10 threads about a in game problem people are complaining about, I then make my own thread with the same subject matter at hand, but isntead of having a title relating to the subject I type something cryptic like "Let's Discuss This Problem!",when I could jsut as well have replied to any of the existing threads, you have to understand people get a little bit upset about it.

But anyways to not be "rude" I'll add my thoughts to your OP:

For me $12-15 is basicly nothing, an average person where I live makes more then that per hour, I personaly enjoy the game atm togheter with friends and so I will pay to keep playing.

Even if I played the game for 10 hours per month $12 is almost the price of a movie ticket and that entertainment will last me roughly 2hours, to me the money would still be "well" spent.

But if you do not enjoy yourself now and are short on money my advice is to simply just dont pay for it, can resubscribe later when you feel that you want to try it out again.

Well being told that the events occurring before 2.0 will not be able to repeat and the story unfold soon on the destruction of Eorzea, i will stay, the game as of it now is playable even thou there are some missing (LS administrative, mail, etc.)

paying 12-15 wont be a problem for me although i would prefer to have more payment options, i am stuck with only C&B payment option and it aint pretty.

Yeah, I agree... I just want a simple paypal option. =p
