    Crafting and Gathering parties.

    It would be nice if SE added Gathnering/Crafting parties to the game.

    Thus if you craft with other crafters in your party within a 20 yalm radius of eachother you get a stat buff (be that perception and gathering, or control and craftmanship), so that you can score HQ easier.

    Sorta like, if you craft/gather with a party of 8 you get up to 30% more chance of scoring an HQ (A 4% buff per each player in the party).

    That would sure make gatherers and crafters stick together and have fun, and it would be group effort driven, just as the battle system.

    That's an interesting proposal. I think I could get behind that but they'd need to add more team based gathering content - for example having rare spawns linked to achieving a certain gathering rate per minute.

    I would love this... but as Culfinrandir said we would need a few more team-based gathering/crafting stuff.

    Would be an interesting and fun concept! If they implemented a group based gathering/crafting system i would have to make, yet again, anther alt to get the full effect being that I'm on my way to omnicrafter status!!

    What if when you party with a specialist you can use their recipes at a 10% efficiency penalty on all actions?

    Of course the ideal is not to need this at all and REMOVE THE SPECIALIST LOCKOUTS, and treat the system how it was intended by giving specialists bonuses when crafting them instead of PENALIZING EVERYONE ELSE FOR NO GODDAMNED REASON

    Your idea is fantastic. SE please hire this guy, or use his idea. Potentially social content is always interesting, and besides diadem gathering groups, there is basically none.

    About specialists, I think that is actually an extremely poor implementation and one that goes against the being able to level everything in one character design (and get rewarded for it) that has always been one of the most defining features of FF14. Instead of receiving and being limited to three soul crystals, I think you should receive only one but no longer being limited means you could potentially become a specialist of everything by spending red scrips on soul crystals. It makes for a new and interesting choice of how you want to spend your red scrips, and much more important than buying Master III books from blue scrips.

    I actually think they tried adding "crafting parties" already. I don't know that anyone even bothers doing it that way, but it is there : the FC Workshop. I think the idea was that everyone makes stuff, turns stuff in, and then you progress to the next step or finish the item.

    Of course, in practice, it is often simpler and easier for one person to make everything, get a group together for a minute to make all the hand ins and progressions, then take the item.

    The FC Workshop is really more set up as a solo thing that others watch. The crafts are almost always one shot they're so simple. What I'm on about is that the group gets a buff in order to do a craft only available when everyone works together. Think of how the Ixals work, impossible without special gloves.

    It could be something like "prepare a FC banquet" where one cooks (CUL), one makes "special" ingredients (ALC), one the plates (ARM) & one the cutlery (BSM). However, the banquet could be enhanced with candlesticks (GSM), a special banqueting table (CRP), table linen (WVR) & chairs (LTW). None of the recipes can be done alone or with less than a Light Party. No job changing during the craft. The final project could have epic buff abilities & be sellable (to make it more attractive).

    It's just one item, & is rather "housing" based but the potential is there. Even crafting PVP - our team against yours, first to produce a full set of gear for a NPC from provided raw mats.

    As I said, I don't think anyone bothers to do it that way, but I think the FC Workshop was intended to be a group effort. It was simply implemented almost as horribly badly as the Specialist System.
