I use my personal house on a daily basis on Goblin. Practically, it offers little that I couldn't get elsewhere, but I use it as my base of operations. If I'm crafting, I do so at my house. If I'm waiting for a queue to pop, its at the house. Almost any time I'm alone and there's any sort of downtime I go there. I spent a lot of time and money customizing it to my liking and I get a lot of mileage out of that work.

Housing is like glamours. It has little practical benefit, but its still a huge part of the game for many people.

I don't RP at all, actually, nor do any of my friends, we just hang out there and shoot the shit while waiting for queue times or crafting, since my house is immediately beside an aetheryte shard, and has the marketboard right outside my property as well as a summoning bell right outside and inside my house, there's pretty much everything anyone needs within arm's length =)
