Flying it's just, like someone responded to me, "a slower way to go from point A to point B" and unless you really want to explore properly, people will always go for the fastest method of travel, which is teleport
You can't teleport from one FATE to the next FATE.
I'm sure with 3.15 and the new relic quest you will see more flying characters who are not on a DoL class.

Rather basic flight controls found in the majority of games. The only thing I don't like is you can't look down at the ground without having to constantly adjust your altitude.

You can actually look straight down on top of you while you're flying. Turn on autowalk, then pan the camera around to where you want it using the left mouse button instead of the right one. I'm not sure how you'd go about doing it on a console, unfortunately.

I love flying and find the controls very intuitive.

Yea, definitely doesn't work that way on console, it just flies in the direction wherever the center of the screen is, so when you look down it aims down, up for up. Maybe the controls can be changed around though, not sure

On consoles, if you turn on autorun (L1+Left Stick), and then try to pan camera, your mount will turn to that direction (On legacy controls at least).

Although if you have enough coordination, you can just fly manually while panning camera, by having mount fly in opposite direction your panning the camera, result will be that you'll fly straight while panning. This is harder than it sounds though, kinda like rubbing your belly and patting your head at the same time, took me about an hour or so of messing around with it though to get use to it.

I find it easy to control and I mostly do so with my mouse.
