Flying in this game is stupidly easy, even on controller. I've never once had any issues with it.

Its probably the only good thing from HW that isn`t the storyline, and about that im not even sure anymore. But is the only one feature that sets HW appart from 2.0. And is a good one, i mean, it works, is flying and it works.
Most people in my FC play with controllers and nobody's had issues with flying.
You're doing something seriously wrong because I also play on a controller and the controls are smooth as butter. All you do is press triangle to begin flying, and everything else can be done with the left and right analog sticks. Move left one forward to accelerate, and use right to go up, down, left, right and anywhere in between. You can fly without ever even having to use triangle to ascend, or circle to descend. And pressing R3 will cause mount to land, though you can interupt this process if desired, but personally I never even use R3 to land. I just steer towards the ground.I do hope they discontinue having us fly in future content with these controls.
Let it die with Heavensward, never continue it's need please.
UPDATE: I've explored flying with a keyboard and mouse and the controls of flying are fine, but with a controller they are pretty bad and not enjoyable.
EDIT:
You can use the cam to look around while flying. Let go of the acceleration, then look around with right stick. And this is my chief complaint about the flying controls. On controller the right analog stick controls both directional navigation and camera view. I can only use World of Warcraft's flying as a proper example on how flying felt more fluid. (and it's been so long since I've played WoW I cannot recall how it worked only that it did) Switching out of legacy controls does help however I cannot use that when on the ground, I dislike it's camera rotation.

Am I the only one who spent 30 minutes flying all over Azys Lla once the wind currents were unlocked with the new mount we got? So to answer your question OP, I really love flying and hope it stays (As long as the maps are made well enough for flying).
I have one problem with flying.
No aerial dogfighting or ground assault.
I feel the need... the need for speed. Going for arrow lock. I've got harp! Fox 1 Fox 1 charm away!
I use MKB and found flying instantly easy and accessible the moment I unlocked the ability. It actually feels better than I expected it to. That said, I do hope SE doesn't feel it necessary to add it to every zone they create from now on. I would like it to be added to at least some of the older zones though and it would be a solid way to add new areas and content without the need for creating entirely new zones. Overall, flying is very good.
I do hope they discontinue having us fly in future content with these controls. But really, even with desirable controls.. do we even really need it? Heavensward proved yes, yes we did because of the content and areas... but can we please get away from it if this is what we have to contend with?
Let it die with Heavensward, never continue it's need please.![]()
I find the flying pretty intuitive.
Are you playing with your feet?I've explored flying with a keyboard and mouse and the controls of flying are fine, but with a controller they are pretty bad and not enjoyable. Also other reasons I dislike flying still stand, such as zone design which I did elaborate on later in this thread. (Sorry for going into detail originally)
