Flying... wow, is it bad

I do hope they discontinue having us fly in future content with these controls. But really, even with desirable controls.. do we even really need it? Heavensward proved yes, yes we did because of the content and areas... but can we please get away from it if this is what we have to contend with?

Let it be with Heavensward, never continue it's need please.

UPDATE: I've explored flying with a keyboard and mouse and the controls of flying are fine, but with a controller they are pretty bad and not enjoyable. Also other reasons I dislike flying still stand, such as zone design which I did elaborate on later in this thread. (Sorry for going into detail originally)

What do you hate about it? I love it. I had no issues adjusting to the controls.

If the controls aren't to your liking, try changing some options.
The default isn't best for everyone.

I like flying, I love flying actually. Just because you don't like flying it doesn't mean it should be removed in its entirety, I don't like gathering, but I'm not going to demand it be removed.

Edit: Besides, if we get the sea expansion like it's been speculated, you'll be begging for flying to be added as it would be infinitely better than swimming, at least from my experience with other MMOs. >_>

Even though it'll probably be less likely that we'll get a whole lot of flight stuff in 4.0 since Yoshida said he kind of wanted to go with underwater content, I have no problems with the flight.

Why? Why impose your dislike on everyone by removing a feature a great many players enjoy.

You don't like it, then don't DO it.

If you don't need to fly, then don't, no one is making you, you can crawl along on the ground all you like.

Sure there are teleports for a reason, and flying is faster than a ground mount which is faster than walking, but Flying gives you a vastly different view of the world allowing you to literally see the sights as you travel. Flying is simply another mode of travel, so sure, it can be boiled down to nuts and bolts as nothing more than a slower way of getting from A to B than say, teleport.

On the other hand, what's wrong with having flight in the game simply for players to enjoy?

I enjoy the flying and hope they keep it and add more flying mounts. I have no problems with it at all.
