This is why I'd like to see things like Diadem to be executed properly. It could have been something specific to FCs to encourage collaboration, away from other aspects of the game. either within FCs or PF to fill in the slots. Instead it loses this novelty because they also put it in DF (which causes it's own problem, such as allowing gathering in there as well). All we get is a grind fest which is reminiscent of hunts (which in itself is also bad imo)
LoV itself is so innovative you have to put a good amount of commitment to get into it, and the game doesn't nessescarly encourage it either since you can't do anything else while playing LoV. It's not a mini game at that point, but something so much larger that it either becomes a turn off or takes away from other aspects of the game.
Though honestly this could be said for the launch of 3.0 in general; once you got past the novelty of the leveling process being new, it's the same game over again, and the new features are just bleh. "FC crafting", crafting specialization, gathering favors and of course alexander savage and even some of the new (and old) jobs new additions)
They were good ideas that were terribly executed. It could have been a wonderful thing, but instead it's turned into a grindfest and something they'll probably leave in the corner. I just how that the developers can interpret things player participation; at one point they said they were satisfied with how many people were clearing Alexander Normal...but I really don't see what that's supposed to mean, esp when it's relative to the clear rates in savage. It's like you're saying with how you're satisfied with how many people are successfully clearing the MSQ...
By their own admission, they are taking away from some contents (such as dungeons, primal fights, and story) to add in new features like Diadem and LoV. Again, nothing is necessarily wrong with that, but the new features can't be failures like they are now.
