OP is getting a ps4, the thread is just about how the OP missed the year long free upgrade period for ps3 users to go to ps4 version of the game.
^ Exactly, going to PS4 was a major difference in load times
It is, an incredibly amount of people just got tired of weekly eso farming formula and weekly lockout crap, whole friendlist is basically offline. People just log in once or twice per week if lucky.
At least on Hyperion there are half if not less the people it used to have. I suppose on some servers is the same or even worse.
Makes impossible to do anything out of a "prime time" zone. Its actually quite annoying, I just log in and do ark once per week and sometimes for daily roulette. Game is very dull atm.
FFXI was NOT the same. I bought the 2008 Vana'diel collection for the PS2 (back in '09, last copy in my city!) for Aht'Urgan and Wings of the Godess and the keys activated on my account across the board. The PC version I downloaded and the expansions all worked no problem; PS2 and Windows.
Shame they didn't keep the free PS3 to PS4 upgrade in effect. It's the same platform and an upgraded console shouldn't require buying a new game. I don't think that is required when people update their PC's.
I meant shafted in the sense that, support for it quickly dwindled. They could have just only released it for the PS4. Not everyone was planning to buy a PS4 within the free upgrade time period. At the end of the day, they wanted console sales to start.
Accounts should not be locked to a specific device. If you are able to log in on another device, what difference does it make other then SE being able to sell you another copy of it for $. That's my 2 cents.
Man I hate to say it but just ask for a PC. You can get a PC built that will run XIV better than a PS4 for the same price just about. I can't tell you how many players lately have lagged out or been disconnecting b/c they can't run wtfast or a VPN to try and get the connection to the servers stable.
