Now to be honest when I saw the announcement I was upset at the decision that had been taken, but after venting a bit I realized that in the end this actually works out for the best.

For those of us who bought a box of the game we get another launch and free trial before we pay for a sub. So in essence it's another fall 2010 with a much better product (benefit of the doubt). I would hope that the free trial for those with a copy of the original game is month long and with no restrictions. We get what we payed for last year in 2012 (not optimal, but better than nothing).

While I will not be subbing, I respect that others enjoy the game and are willing to pay money for it, even if I don't understand it (live and let live).

Those of us that are leaving will free up space so they could merge servers in the future and at the same time make the information migration easier.

While seeing the development process of the game was interesting it was detrimental to submersion in the world. I will enjoy the world more when I haven't seen al the nuts and bolts holding up the moogle.

So good luck to all the eorzeans, see you in 2012 and thanks for the hardwork Yoshida-san et al.
