Hey everyone, when should LB3 normally be used (in general by a healthy party) in Alex 1-4 normal for example? Reason I ask is because up until now I literally never used it but I find parties vary so much in this, you get a bad one and I've used Astral Statis like 5 times now in the past couple weeks. I actually look out for LB3 to fill and deep down hope half the party will wipe just because it's so pretty! Anyway question is when should the party normally use it? Today in A4 we just got to phase 3 and Nisi had just worn off for the first time. Manipulator had about 3/4 HP if not more, definitely no less though. A DPS yelled to use LB so another did as I was writing that I think we should save it. A DPS then used it. About 1 minute later the party was doing really bad and next thing you know Tank 1 wipes, 2 DPS 2 wipe, Healer 2 wipes and guess what I have, half of LB1 left. So we all died. Long story short, when should a party typically use it mainly in Alexander normal as that's mainly what I love doing. Thanks!

PS side question vs making a new thread. When typically should I use Celestial Opposition? I do normally after expanded royal road or if I pop collective unconscious I'll do it to extend that a tick or two.

Generally the DPS would use it as soon as they can, unless it is incorporated into the strategy (I have seen ranged using the line LB in A1S at an optimal time). The rule of thumb is to use it when you can (as a DPS) within the confines of your DPS rotations, i.e. dont do it when its going to ruin your DPS, its not worth it.

As for healers and tanks, their LBs are much less useful in high end content as healers are A) risky to pull of without dying themselves, and B) you are likely not going to meet the DPS check anyway. And as for tanks, its really not needed apart from particular fight phases.

Thanks, in terms of classes I'm definitely good on which does what. I was more wondering like just in A4 normal for example once you're in phase 3 would it be used immediately or should it be saved until the HP is lower in case a healer needs to LB3 to save everyone? I guess I'm just wondering because in the times I did use my LB3 the bar was full for awhile and Manipulator was down to like 15% if that when I used it to save everyone. But earlier it was used twice when it was at like 35-40% basically right as the hardest part of the fight started when it might be needed by a healer. So just wasn't sure what normally people do.

Celestial Opposition effects all AST buffs, so it's actually good form to use Luminiferous Aether before you CO in addition to card buffs, as it's like getting a free 1k mana. Using it after a party buff is typically best use, but sometimes your draws are just... poop... so I'll typically burn it after I LA and Card Buff unless I'm just drawing Bole after Bole.

The only time I really used LB3 is in progression content where we know we won't meet the dps check but we still want to go a little bit more to train some phase.
While we were learning P4 for A3S, I used it (or my co-healer) a lot if something went wrong.
The only time it was really useful was in A4N, when all dps died and when there was nothing else to do.
So yeah, I'm still pretty unconvinced by LB3 healer or tank, because they'll always be outclassed by dps LB3, if they had some bonus effect like "X% bonus damage or stat bonus during X time", they'll be useful.
I remember another mmo where the "ultimate skill" from the healer was a huge aoe on the ground that boosted your def+atk during 30 sec, and people freaking loved it.

It really depends of which fight you're in...
The hardest sometime need it to save the party from a wipe or to help during progress
In easiest fight it's 98% of the time melee DPS
(I've never used à lb3 heal in Alex nm)

Should only really be used in A4S or if 4/8 are dead and one of them is your co-healer.

I have used it on early Thordan kills but I try to avoid using it if possible.

Thanks for the tip good to know about Luminiferous Aether. Was just wondering as often times I get paired up with another AST and I swear they NEVER use Celestial Opposition, and most never use Collective Unconscious at all either.

Alex normal is easy enough, especially with the typical gear most people have at this point, that you're not likely to find any DPS consciously saving the LB3 for a healer in case they wipe.

Sure, wipes and near wipes still happen sometimes in A4 normal when DPS don't get adds, or a green tank eats Discoid without CDs, or a new healer can't keep up with nisi. Even most PUGs, though, can pretty reliably beat any part of Alex normal without wipes.

On the bright side, at least healers do sometimes get to save the day with LB3.
